    Your comparison videos are very helpful! It’s hard to get a good sense of the advantages and drawbacks of different tools from some reviews, and my very small space demands careful buying. Seeing you use these I can get a good idea of how much space I would need, what my movements would be, if I’d need to stand up, and what kinds of mistakes I’d make! And of course beautiful examples of what I could make. Thank you!

      @@RafterQ That's a great question - not long after making this video, Waffle Flower released a 7x11 grip mat that works really well in the stamp & spin. I assume any grip mat would work. You just don't want it to be to thick or it's hard on the hinges. Hope that's helpful!

    I’m glad to see a comparison. I saw on during a walk through at Creativation by another content creator that Altenew is releasing a larger version of the stampwheel. I think I’ll wait to see it because I like that Altenew has the photopolymer grip mat but I’d like the option to use a full size sheet of card stock like you can in the Sizzix tool. Thank you so much for all you do, I'm so happy I found you (by the way, I've never seen anyone master stencils the way you do, especially when you combine them--which I had no idea could be done; I only knew one stencil, one image)!

      Ardyth, I like the option of the Sizzix size to do bigger stamped pieces and stencils. For turning the spinner, how much pressure do you think it takes? I have some mobility issues with my fingers, hand and wrist (fibromyalgia, polyneuropathy & arthritis).

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@kaylynn0215 It doesn't take a lot of effort (but definitely requires both hands, as noted), but that click into place is pretty solid and jerky. • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the wreath builder as well. I found it more difficult to get precise placement when I had to move the cardstock rather than the tool, but it is definitely a more cost effective way to get a similar look. The sticky sheet (stamp and spin) and grip mat (stampwheel) both work as they're intended. The sticky sheet will lose its stick over time and it is a consummable (ie you'll have to buy more), which is not the case with the grip mat. Thanks for watching!

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The photopolymer grip mats (Altenew, Waffleflower) are too thick, but right now I am testing out a sticky mat - think Cricut mat - plastic with stick on one side. I have it taped to the base of the tool, and so far, so good! Thanks so much for watching!

      On the basis that I might want to turn something 4 times (like a turnabout stamp), I did 4 colours, so 1, 5, 9, 13 are yellow (I used the sticky part of post-it notes, so they're not permanent, but they stick pretty well), 2, 6, 10, 14 are pink, 3, 7, 11, 15 are orange, and 4, 8, 12, 16 are blue. No meaning to the to the actual colours - they're just the colours of sticky notes I had. Over time, I find I really rely on the numbers rather than the colours, so at least it looks fun! lol! @ardyth If you do try it pls let us know the results! 😃 I'm thinking about the Sizzix, but love the mat from the Altenew. Thanks for all the great videos you inspire us with.

      @@ardyth none of my friends or family would disagree when I say I’m not known for my patience! I went online and purchased the Sizzix, and the stamp wheel. I tried stamping (regular stamping; my stamp wheel hadn’t arrived yet) with the sticky mat from my Altenew on the Sizzix…it worked well for me! Then as I was trying your idea of the Cricut type mat I saw and ordered an unbranded sticky mat online and it arrived this afternoon. It is like a perfect fit for the area on the Sizzix base, and just a wee bit thinner than the Altenew sticky mat. Both sides are sticky, so it just stays exactly where it’s supposed to be. And the ultimate test: I just did a test drive with the wheel, and oh my gosh, I LOVE IT! Much easier for me than the Altenew, and with the sticky mat, nothing is sneaking off the mat!!!!! Thank you for your compariSPIN video…you have introduced me to a new level of stamping, and it’s great! I do cover the sticky mat when it’s not being used because it sticks too tight to the lid of the Sizzix. I use a counter saver (very flexible type plastic) from the Dollar Tree that I cut down to size.

      PS!!! I just tried my Lazy Susan base (thank you for sharing that with us!) under the Sizzix, and it works really well.

    Thank you! I was going to ask on your last video if you could do what you did on the sizzix with the stamp wheel. So you just answered my question without me asking! Thank you so much for all your very helpful videos. They save me so much time and effort, and money sometimes. Like with this, it tells me I don’t need another tool, yet at least!
