I met marion ross in Spain. She was there on a uso show. I went to the shoppette and she was sitting on the bench outside the theatre. I looked then did a double take. She laughed and said, yes its me! She invited me to sit and we taljednearly an hour. She told me stories of the show, how the boys lived to play pranks on each other. Ill never forget how sweet she was.

When I was growing up during the 70's, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and later M*A*S*H were my favorite shows. I grew up in Milwaukee so Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley were "in" Milwaukee, so I really connected to them. I lived near the place that inspired Arnold's. It's called Leon's, and they had the best 🍦ice-cream🍦, 🍨sundaes🍨, etc. The school was across the road on 27th and Oklahoma Avenue. It was a great show that again I had a connection with. It was a brilliantly written and very well casted show. Truly a special time.

I was watching some Happy Days yesterday and I started crying at some parts on season 2. This was my favorite show when i was a kid. My parents grew up in the 50's, listened to the music and the show meant a lot to me .

I really grew up in the 80s born in 79, and I was hooked on this show that I even had a black leather jacket today its called a plane motorcycle jacket small collar and a pocket zipper on top left side and an inside pocket 2 1 hidden in the other pocket, and 2 normal hand pockets, was a Harley Davidson ,had that jacket for years, i think I liked it so much because I always wanted a family like that and friends you can count on, either way I love the show, stories still obviously the best sitcom ever, and Roseanne, now the Connors. And now its Dexter, so happy its back for season 9, I have something to look forward to now lol

I was a kid when this show was on, around 9 or 10. No VCR's, no reruns for years, if you missed it that was it. You listened to all your friends at school talk about how great the episode was. So we were always on our best behavior that day and the threat from the parents was sending us to bed without seeing Happy Days. We were complete angels.

I was a young kid when Happy Days was on television. I was a big fan of the Fonz. I lived in Orlando between 1997 and 1998 and worked at Disney World when I learned they were filming a movie at the Citrus Bowl. That movie was The Water Boy starring Adam Sandler. I was in the stadium as an extra and was able to get Henry Winkler’s autograph. He was such an awesome guy. Henry went around the entire stadium to sign autographs. I still have it to this day. 👍🏻

This was a great show. It was humorous, sweet, witty, touching, and had all the right characters played by all the right people. I love the fact that the studio heads didn't like the leather jacket - and it ends up in the Smithsonian!
Along with Mary Tyler Moore, The Odd Couple, Mash, and later Taxi, it made for some classy (and classic) late-afternoon to early-evening television. Those were the days... happy days...

One of the great guys I grew up with had a Dad that my own Dad always said reminded him of Howard Cunningham. When "Mr. Cunningham" came to Dad's funeral, I felt safe enough to say that Dad reminded him of "Mr. C". He couldn't stop laughing and said that was one of the best compliments he'd ever received. I thought the first two years of “Happy Days” were outstanding; the show was very funny and, yet, it also dealt with serious subjects like racism, the Cold War and how adults and young people viewed politics back during the 1950s.
However, once Garry Marshall decided to film the show in front of a “live studio audience” of incessantly screaming kids, that’s when HD really “jumped-the-shark.”

This will always be one of my favorite TV shows. Did anyone notice the similarities between this show and Family Matters? Family Matters was a spin-off of Perfect Strangers, which was similar to Laverne and Shirley, only Perfect Strangers focused on two guys who were roommates instead of two girls who were roommates. All of these shows were Miller -Boyett shows. Here are some similarities between the shows.
PERFECT STRANGERS and LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY:
*Both shows were about roommates and their slapstick adventures.
*Both shows had theme songs about making one's dreams come true. (Perfect Strangers had a theme song that said, "It's my life and my dreams and nothing's gonna stop me now...")
    HAPPY DAYS/FAMILY MATTERS:
*There was a character on Family Matters named Richie.
*The TV family's son, Eddie Winslow, had a close friend whose first and last name rhymed. This friend was Waldo Faldo. (Waldo's middle name was Geraldo.)
*Eddie's sister, Laura, was a cheerleader, just like Joanie.
*Steve Urkel took over Family Matters the way Fonzie took over Happy Days.
*Steve Urkel's role in Family Matters could also be considered to be like Chachi's role in Happy Days. He was head over heels for Laura, who turned him down for years before she finally gave in and became his girlfriend. In the series finale of Family Matters, they were preparing for their wedding. I was actually expecting Family Matters to have a spin-off starring Kellie Shanynge Williams and Jaleel White. (I imagined the name of the show would be Laura Loves Steve.)

Marion Ross looks great here. She doesn't look all that much different than when she was on the show.
They did a good job recreating the 50s in the first few seasons, but later they got to where they didn't care.

billybassman21 Yeah, I have to say by the 4th season it looked more like a 1970's show trying to throw in a little 50's lifestyle in there.

@@a.b.s_productions I figured out when Mork (Robin Williams) first appeared on Happy Days, that the show was nearing it's end. I absolutely hated Mork & Mindy! Nothing against the actors, the show just basically sucked, in my opinion

@@QueenAlexis556 I agree, I never cared for “Mork & Mindy.” Robin Williams who was a talented actor just seemed like he was on nothing but coke or pills, and people thought it was just comedy.

Geez, I remember watching this as a kid growing up. I was so excited to see this reunion even though I was not the age when the original show aired thanks to Nick at Night. So while I was watching this show as a little kid, all these new adventures for me, not soo long after I see them aged up, 30 years later.
Now, I'm '30 years later' in that I"m in my 30s now, and this aired over 20 years ago. What was new and exciting reunion is now old and this is now 20 years old. Time didn't fly, time is as active as it always was and I am happy to see this again. It reminds me of my youth and reminds me how media is timeless. What was a reunion for a old show 30 years ago, is now a reunion video 20 years later. A time stamp of a time stamp.
I'm probably talking nonsense but it's just amazing how life works. Nothing is ever 'old'. What is old for someone is new for someone else. I'm excited for the kids that gets to watch shows that we consider as kids our childhood, and for their kids to get excited for shows that were their childhood. And so forth. And thank you Nick at Night, for allowing these shows to continue to be on air and have different generations experience other things. The past, which becomes their present, to shape their future. It's just so cool.
