Received my SBTR017 a couple of days ago. It is indeed gorgeous! In my sample, the chapter ring is well aligned. While the dimensions certainly don't lie, it actually seems smaller than I had expected. No regrets so far.
You need to watch the episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon can't decide between a PS4 or a X-Box. Amy suggests to buy both. This is my advice to you.

Very nice time piece, I like the green face with the gold color on the sub-dial rings. Also you can add that this watch has a power reserve indicator, that means when the battery is low the second hand will jump every 2 seconds instead of 1 second. Thanks for the video.

If anyone is interested on buying one I wouldn’t mind helping you to buy your very own, due the fact that the Seiko dealer is 2km away from my home as long as you pay the shipping fees and of course the watch itself.
It has the thinner bezel of the pre-1987 Rolex Daytona with the case size/thickness (and crown protectors) of the 2024 Daytona. This watch beats the Seiko "Daytona Mod" in every way. This watch is a WIN-WIN all around! 🏆🏆🏆

I have moved it on for another chronograph that was recently released (rather controversial Zenith) but I credit this seiko for pulling me into chronographs. I loved wearing it. Very light and it the green and gold reminds me of Lotus livery in a way. It sits more on the middle ground to dressy to casual. I paired mine on a rally strap for a casual look
I have a pulsar chrono which I bought around 5 years ago which has the same functions as this but it has a conventional quartz movement and a white dial but the quality looks similar to this and it was a LOT cheaper,that said a very attractive watch especially the green dial.
What is it with watches. I cant stop it lol I swore this would be my forever watch, its beautiful, its elegant and strong and catches the eye and than I see the Citizen Tsuyosa small seconds in blue..its like groundhog day the movie but everyday I wake up with a new watch lol

Hey there! Glad you found my voice so calming- I can tell you this is only after coffee. All jokes aside! the indices are glued on these watches and for the price point, you really shouldn't settle for one that requires work. However, they could repair it with adhesive...but they may just charge you for a third of the watch, which may not be worthwhile. I found mine on eBay, from a japanese retailer that was very reputable, I would try my luck there. I hope this helps! Glad to have you around!
I just bought this watch too… I prefer the Speedmaster design to the Daytona design this Seiko sports, but the offer was too good to pass up. Great value for money!
just a suggestion that maybe put the watch on top of a surface instead of holding it so my eyes aren't tracking the watch's movement during the video :)
Very nice and the size is excellent. Some things that bug me are the short chrono hand and poor crown fitment between the guards. I'll stick with my Spirit SBPP001.
The alignment issue has an explanation, on the caseback it says "Movement Japan, Cased in China". Fortunately my SBTR017 had accurate alignment, lucky shot ^^

It astonishes me how virtually no one critiques the VK63 movement. A workhorse beater no doubt but the 24h subdial at 3:00 is utterly useless and completely destroys the utility of a three-register chronograph.
Seiko for me has gone downhill raising prices for not even entry level. No thanks. As of the last two years I’ve fallen off that seiko train. I’d rather save up and get a decent watch with a better movement. All the old seikos are worth the money but not anymore.
Picked up a sister version of this [SSB031] and super happy..
So many of the 42-45+mm monstrous, big-ass case size watches really turn my stomach ..

To your question about the date... I always prefer NO date. It's a hassle to have to set it every other month (or months that don't have 31 days).

You should add the lug to lug length information too. That's the most important dimension for me. Nice looking watch.

Alpinist is still better man! You can’t beat the movement and everything it offers. This watch just doesn’t do it for me .
