Traffic looked quite light on the M40. Measuring the time between the position signs shows that it was running at a steady 100 km/h most of the time along there.

The M40 usually does run easily. What is remarkable here is how easily the A40 was working out of the centre. The first quarter of the journey usually takes about half the time for the whole trip.
