For the last one, I died enough times to get double Aku Aku so when I would get to the death route and got a third Aku Aku, I powered through all the Nitro Crates to make the way back easier

You can reach the death routes, enter them and die on purpose, and than they stay unlock for any later mistakes.

The hardest for me was Piston It Away.
I used a trick though, once I reach the death route platform the first time, I enter it and die on purpose, that will make the death route stay available regardless of subsequent deaths. Now I can go look for the last crates and back track and die as often as necessary. The long jump over the laser when backtracking made me crazy, I died like 50 times, and only succeeded thanks to an Aku-Aku mask...

There is an in game clue about the Turtle Woods Blue Gem. If you go through the level while breaking only one box, the end will say 1/0 boxes after you get the regular gem.

Piston It Away is not THAT hard: the shrinking spheres can be destroyed with a rotating attack, that makes the whole backtracking part A LOT easier. It's actually one of my favorite levels.

For piston it away you can go on the death route platform, die, and then go back through the level it won't disappear if you die later

Unironicaly, i got the gem in the high road when i first Beated it, (same with stormy ascent) Lost City is the hardest gem in Crash 1
And turtle Woods blue gem is really easy
And where is future tense from Crash three

For me Lost city was hardest gem in crash 1. Such a long level and so easy to make a stupid mistake or miss the floating box you need to jump off a lizard to reach 😂

When I got this game I remember getting all of the gems for the first 2 games and then beat the story of the 3rd one and just completely disregarded finding all of the gems and relics because of the treacherous levels in the previous 2
