I started flying for Pan Am in 1968. We had to wear girdles, hats, and white gloves. We could take off the hats and gloves when the doors of the plane closed. It sounds ridiculous now, but we just took it for granted. I ended up flying for thirty-eight and a half years for Pan Am and then Delta when Pan Am went out of business. I took my mother on a two-day layover in Paris one time. It was one of the high points of her life, and I loved it too. She died fifteen years ago, but I will always remember our time in Paris. Cherish the time you have with your mother I know that you do.

Debbie Gibson I was a travel agent back in 2000 to 2003. I was able to get my parents to Hawaii on the American Hawaii Cruises in 2001 before they shut down. After my Mom passed away I took Dad to Key West on a cruise. He got to see his favorite author Ernest Hemmingway's Home in Key West. He was happy. I will never forget that trip.
The friendly skies have obviously been good to Sandy the last 50 years. She looks AMAZING

The parent snoring struggle while on vacation is real one. I've just learned to accept that I'm probably not going to get any sleep that first night.

OMG... So wonderful that you ended up on this flight with Sandy...she seems like a wonderful lady. I wish ladies like her and people that left comments and were former flight attendants would compile a book (however small or big) about their profession.....so much was expected of them, so many rules, the fashions......so much has changed. I have read most books out there that have dealt with your profession...there aren't many though. Kacey....maybe you could put together a book like this. Guaranteed it would be a best seller! Great you had a chance to work a private plane too...I'm sure that was an experience! Your mom had a riot hanging out with you....mother daughter trips are awesome!❤️🛫

Hey! Kacey, I just want to say that I'm sooo happy that you are back to work. I was little bumped when you said that you got furlough.
I will be so happy to see all the flight attendants back at work and all the planes in the air. It will mean that at least we are back to some normalcy. Is that a word ??? I honestly do not know!

Been to Philipsburg many times. They have a St. Maarten animal rescue shack near the main shopping and we always stop there and buy a shirt to support them. Glad you and your mom had fun together.

*Nice getaway,* it's 19 degrees and snow on the ground in Oklahoma City; thanks for the nice sunny trip. BTW no TSA screeners, checked baggage or jet lag.........LOL. I'm glad you're getting flight attendant work, post COVID-19 event.

When we went to St. Maarten, the shots you have of the planes landing? Our hotel was right there. Destroyed during the hurricane, but came back a year later. The funny part was, you can tell what time it was by what planes were landing. But wasn't the takeoff when you went home fun? Love short runways!

I’ve been there it’s really cool and beautiful ! Love aviation and I was back in 2007 - 2008 I was a flight attendant for SkyWay Airlines ( Midwest Connect ) it was a lot fun but I was laid off! I miss it!

when crewing an actual pj, it's good to refer to the pax as the 'principle' whenever discussing them outside the cabin. just a lil biz jet tip if you weren't already briefed.
There is a beach next to the Hewanora airport on St Lucia at the end of the runway. British Airways used to fly 747’s in weekly. The dare was to stand at the end of the runway (on the beach) and NOT DUCK as the big plane took off. I couldn’t do it. I think it helped if you were really drunk. I don’t drink so there was never any win for me. Stay safe.
