That was a funny comment. I just retired and am looking to leave Phoenix.

Thank you for your question! Mapleton, Utah, does have a strong Latter-day Saint presence, with about 89% of the population identifying as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That’s a bit higher than the Utah County average of around 80% and significantly above the statewide average of about 61.5%.
If you’re also considering the Salt Lake metro area, the numbers shift slightly. In Salt Lake County, about 48-50% of residents identify as Latter-day Saints, and in Salt Lake City itself, that number drops to roughly 35-40%. This reflects the diversity you’ll find in Utah’s larger urban areas, which can have a mix of cultural and religious backgrounds.
Your move from Phoenix, which has its own vibrant Latter-day Saint community, might feel familiar in terms of cultural values in Utah Valley. But depending on where you settle-whether it’s Mapleton, Salt Lake City, or another area-you’ll encounter varying levels of diversity and community dynamics.
I hope this helps as you weigh your options! Let me know if you have more questions about Mapleton or anywhere else in Utah. 😊.
Hopefully all the stats are correct, I had google help me.:). But in my experience living very near Mapleton, you will find that the vast majority of the residents identify as LDS and that is reflected in the large number of lds churches you'll find there. Everywhere you look you'll see lds steeples which will look familiar to you as they generally have the same design as the lds churches you would see all over the Valley of the Sun. By the way I lived in the Phoenix area for 5 years back in the late 80's and early 90's. It still feels like a second home to me there. Welcome to Utah. You'll love it here.

Um, you forgot the requirement of either a $250K annual income or $500K for a 100 year old single family home. Anything newer is well over $1M

Well...You are not wrong😂. But, since this was not a pros and cons video...affordability was not mentioned. Sadly, those prices pretty much apply to many Utah cities these days not just Mapleton.

Too expensive and high taxes in Utah, and too much government interference.

I understand that cost of living and government policies can be important factors when choosing where to live. Utah, like any state, has its pros and cons depending on what matters most to each individual. My videos aim to provide information to help people make the best decision for their needs

My goal is to provide helpful information about Utah Valley for both locals and those considering a move, so they can make informed decisions and appreciate what makes these communities special.
