Как-то поехали кататься по полям на мотоциклах , весной ранней . День катались с перерывами конечно . Я на мт был самое сложное по песку ехать было для меня , трудно удержать мотоцикл . А тут по песку да с такой скоростью ... Уважение к таким людям !!! Вот это гонщики настоящие . А не те что от светофора к светофору ручку откручивают . И пол вечера кофе пьют по кафешкам .

As someone who does medium distance races (150-300km) i have major respect for these guys lasting so long on stages, riding in sand for so long just makes it that much harder

Deep respect from the bottom of my heart to these top class bikers who chart the unknown terrain...it's tough... bloody tough..it ..drains you mentally...in couple of shots..they remind me of cruising like a kangaroo on an arrid land
Too much beer around football. When a football player falls, he rolls on the ground. He cries, he hopes to earn a free kick. When the motorcyclist falls, he raises the bike and continues the race. So where is more sport?
yeah this is next level, extreme challenge, real danger, no wimps allowed. its not really comparable though they so different but Dakar and enduro in general is on another level compared to "ball sports"

Aside from the obvious challenges(stamina, skill, money, luck) this race is won by Navigation. Going balls out in the wrong direction is gut wrenching. Having done it before in a race a fraction of this distance. Navigation is the probably the most difficult challenge these guys face. Did you notice how much faster the bikes went following tire tracks? Much faster than the bikes making those tracks. Not to mention the leg work before race starts ( passport issues, accommodations, rations, chase, extra parts, shipping bike. It takes a team to compete. Riding the bike over 7000 miles is just a small part of competing in this race. Respect.
Thats some serious stamina. Think id be having a constant mind battle between playing different sections safe or just ‘going for it’ in order to save time where possible. Hats off.

Another good vid. Some people don't like the music, I do. The powerful, dramatic music goes well with the epic performance that man and machine have to put in. The slower, sadder tunes are just as emotive and add well to the video. I think it emphasises the lone rider and their machine against it all, they would feel like the loneliest person in the World. If they weren't so busy!

The whole thing is amazing and at 6'30 how the rider gets back onto the track is simply astonishing given the terrain.
He's been to Erzberg a couple of times!
But you're right, turning at that spot, and getting back up on that bike takes a lot of skill.
