I had a ‘78 MMB amp. Got it for $50 in great condition. Even had an Altec speaker that goes for as much or more than the amp normally does! Sold it but wish I still had it. Speaker especially!! Mine had 6v6’s and be SS rectification.
Nice build! I have a Musicmaster that I sometimes use for harmonica, I didn't like the tone circuit either so I redid my preamp circuit to a 6G2 brownface Princeton, much better.
Thoughts on the transformers from Hammond Mfg? Or some other place to go? I just don't have access to classic ones that weren't covered in seawater at some point.
I've been happy with the quality of Hammond Transformers, but don't have much experience with other makes - too expensive to ship from the Northern Hemisphere.
Yes, the PI tranny is a Hammond 124A. Thanks for pointing that out. And the OT is the always useful Altronics 1120, but any 15w 8k/8ohm push/pull tranny would do.
Nice sounding built !

That's a nice build. Sometimes simple is all you need.
Thanks David. With a simple amp, a guitar player can still get a range of tones using pickup selection, gtr controls & picking style.
Very cool build! Thank you for sharing. Thanks too for the schematics!
Love your work Colonel. Another success 🙌
Cheers Dave.
“We’ll edit that out.” Nice looking (and sounding) work.
Thanks Matthew.
Wow this is so cool!!!!
Chazzy??? I love your terminology mate. Nice build.
Hey, thanks!
Where's TheZedvox channel mentioned in the credits? Can't find it. :) Nice amp!
Oops. I may have changed it. Just search 'Mark Doherty'

Thanks Bill. They say you can't improve on the classic circuits but yeah, sometimes you can.

that power transformer came from a kriesler radio gram
Good to know. Thanks Ian. I used to collect valve radios. Kriesler build quality was great, particularly the early stuff.
