Merci beaucoup. You guys have the adjectives after the noun similar to Arabic, contrary to English. La robe rouge = القستان الاحمر != The dress red.
English has helped me learn French vocabulary while Arabic helps me learn French grammar. Although I still have difficulty learning when to use Je and J', Le and L', De and D', and many other short cuts using the apostrophe.
As a beginner, I'm not sure, but I think this short cuts are used when the next word starts with a vowel or with vowel's sound, usually starting with "h".
i was just thinking the same about the Arabic thingy!

ok, somebody help me out: 4:42- "Je suis venu" = I went, but technically, doesn't it mean "I came". Does French make a distinction between came and went? I thought Je suis allé was "I went". help this anglophone please...;)
Yea your correct, "je suis venu" means I came and "je suis allé" means I went. I would say just not to take the translations--especially with the subtitles--to literally. It could of been a little mistake but really it gets the same point across.
