Hahaha I get how strange it is. I've been living in Paris for the past 8 years there really is a distinct identity in each district. Even the people, and it's astounding how different things can get just a few km apart. Kinda what makes Paris for me, diversity. Fuck the 16eme tho

You're right, but it's not true for the younger generations living in Paris. Look at the girl at 02:47 : she is very dismissive in the way she answers the questions, like "what are you bothering me with your questions"

No, this is particularly easy french. They are speaking under conversational speed as far as I can assess. And quite clear, I'll add. These channels are godsends, I should donate.

I absolutely love learning French but find the listening part to be the most demotivating part of the learning cycle as it is almost impossible to understand native speakers speaking at full speed.
Don't give up! If you keep listening it will gradually become easier. But it's true that it is very challenging! Bon courage 🤗

Everytime i think i'm doing well in French, i watch a video of French native speakers and feel like I'm watching a program in German 😂 i barley understood 50%
50% is not bad at all! And keep in mind that if you travel to a French-speaking country, people won't talk to you the same as they do with native speakers. They will try to adapt so you can communicate (perhaps not everybody but friendly people will 😊)

I hope I'll improve my language till that time., but I'm not sure that I'll find many friendly French that would slow down as I speak to them 😂. I mean French are not so known to be kind.

4:00 this guy is the typical Parisian type, when I think about Parisian ppl it comes to my mind a guy like him and a woman with curly hair to the shoulders.
I've been using these videos to study French, and they've been very helpful. I'm very early on, so at this point it's pretty hard to follow along with what's going on. That said, this has been very helpful for hearing spoken French, having small bits of natural isolated dialogue that can be studied, and getting down cadence and pronunciation.
I think I've finally settled on a system that might work best for me. Each day, after about 30 minutes of Duolingo, I watch one random video three times:
- The first time, I watch the English subtitles and glance at the French subtitles. This is mostly so I have some idea of the context of what people are saying for the next watches, but I'm also trying to match the English to the French.
- The second time, I block the English subtitles from view and watch the only French subtitles. Here my goal is to match the spoken words to the subtitles, while remembering the context from the previous watch. I might have to repeat a section a few times here.
- The third time, I block all of the subtitles and try to keep up with what's actually being said. The goal here is to remember what was said and which written French words it related to, while matching it all up to mouth movements and hand gestures.
Sounds like a good, well thought out approach.

I'm Canadian..I had many customers from France (and from Quebec) multiple times..Customers from France(in general) ALWAYS found something to be negative/complain about..they often felt a bit "low" or a bit stressed..at least, about the weather or , work, health or something..you always had to try to cheer them up..they also at times could be difficult in communication..whereas customers from Quebec(french, but "french canadian") were very different, in general, i found them to be jovial and positive each time..naturally friendly,more open,or at least neutral..
@@joang.6664 As a frenchy I can relate to your experiences. I think it's all about culture and education. In France, complaining about anything is a way to bound with others, whereas north americans tend to be smiling and enthusiastic. From a french point of view, this way of being can often be perceived as fake.
It is also the consequence of an educational sysem which emphasizes a lot on the critical mind. Sacrosanct "Thesis, antithesis, synthesis" is how french pupils learn to think, hence we are trained to see the downside in everything... I know how irritating it can be, even for us... :)

Moi, en fait, je viens de l'ancêtre à moitié française, et avant de venir au Canada, je suis née/est allée à l'école/ en Russia. Pour cette raison je comprends la mentalité française très bien..

I've been learning korean for 3 years, the 1st year I was on and off, the second year I barley touched Korean, then the 3rd year I made 10 reasons I would want to learn korean, figured out some i didnt even think i wanted, I studied hard, then eventually I went from reaching to my goals, to looking at how far I've come, and eventually I became intermediate, like Mohammed said, it's about commitment.

Et puis, je suis rentré au Mexique mais après j'ai décidé de déménager à Lisbonne, la ville de mes rêves (que je connaissais déjà). J'habite Lisbonne depuis 9 ans. C'est une ville avec un charme spécial qui s'allonge entre le fleuve, qui est très large, et l'océan, avec des ruelles tranquilles et des gens hyper sympas. Voilà. Merci et à la prochaine!

Why do I feel like living the basis of city living is alike in many ways internationally? Like unless you've been brought up in the city, many people like it because they have work and/or school there, or they love the cultural differences and the fact that everything is within walking distance from each other. I just thought that was interesting. I love your videos!

EDIT: J'ai presque oblié. J'habite Santos, c'est une ville dans le litorel brésilien. Beaucoup de personnes a São Paulo viens ici dans les week-ends. On, les santistas, avons aussi le habitude de parler où on vivre comme vous, mais ce n'est pas avec les rue mais oui avec les canal d'égout (c'est un très important detail ici, car la ville seulment existe sans s'afoguer dans l'eau à cause de ça); je suis au 5éme canal

France is definitely more than just Paris, but I suppose Paris is the most famous part of France because it's the capital and it has world-famous landmarks. I'd been to Paris once and it's so beautiful.
@@mabel8880 In my opinion, Paris is definitively not the most beautiful part of France. It's just one part of France. France is a country that shares a border with Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium... Imagine how different it is from one region to another. Each region has a strong cultural signature, and limiting France to Paris is a major mistake.
