Hi Sid, used mine with the small coil a few weeks ago while snorkeling on holiday in Bonaire😉 Must say I would have liked some discrimination as I dug tons of bottlecaps and rusty nails most crawling over the beach above water🤣 Desided to buy it as I could do with a pinpointer on land and would have the fun of being able to use it in the water. It won't pick up small gold as I found out while trying it on my wife's heavy 14k earrings I made for here (hobby jeweler) Having to turn the sensitivity to the max everytime you use it on land (and water you want the max don't you?)is also a bit frustrating (I've got a Nox that pics up the the smallest pieces so have to go max with the pulsedive) Having to dig that deep while snorkeling in the surf will be a heavy task as well😅 End of the story is that I had a lot of fun with it as scubadetector and it's a nice sturdy ,sensitive pinpointer for on land👍🏻 Have fun and stay safe, Eric
Great video. Best comparison I've seen. You should do the quest scuba tecter vs quest scuba tector pro. Then put up all the numbers compared to this video. That would be a must see for everyone. Heck throw in the iking- vibra tector 750 too. I think you would get the most watched videos ever on those hand-held detectors. Thanks again for tips too. I'll give this video a like.
Love this video. I have been contemplating getting the pulse dive now I'm convinced. Going to order mine as soon as the bigger coil is available. Thanks for the heads up . GL & HH YA'LL
So bigger is better :-) I bought set with small coil and I want to buy bigger but price is a half price of set with small :-( Thank You for comparision.
Hi, nice review. I have decided on this for the best of both worlds but I don't have a general metal detector. I just want something small and hand held for now for digging around, paddling in streams etc. Do you think I should but the just the Makro pointer, (around £120) and buy the bigger coil separate or will the standard kit with smaller coil be ok ? Cheers.
Streams and rivers it will be best to get the coil for it... only down side is no iron discrim and you will be digging lots of bails... maybe safe up and get a simplex... would work lots better
@@englandshistory I ended up going for the Nokta which just arrived today from Amazon. However, when I shake the detector, there is a rattling sound from the shaft that sounds like something small and loose. Is this normal ?
@@englandshistory Thanks, in that case I will keep it. I like the fact that it isn't conspicuous and very portable. As a novice it should serve me well. I know it has a pointer but for land use, would you still use the coil, bearing in mind this will be my only detector ?
If indeed it pentrates deeper l think it would be a safe bet it will use your battery at a much faster rate..can you test that..as well as a width coverage comparison?
i just upgraded to 8 inch coil and im very disapointed with it there's a huge depth loss for my device with the 8 inch coil .. while im using big coil it can't even detect a penny from a inch deep under the sand . but while im using the smaller one it detects very well .
@@englandshistory its on the max sensivity but the depth is very very disapointing i contacted with the firm and they going to send me a another one to see if it's the same
While using 8"" underwater at max sensitivity dector goes crazy..false signals..so I drop down to sensitivity 4...tried many times to hunt at max sensitivity..no luck..have you experienced that?..thank you
Hi Sid, would you recommend buying the small one and then purchasing the bigger coil or just go for the big one anyway? i have been pondering on a purchase for a while as i only do a bit of snorkeling and need to justify the big spend as they aint cheap! I have the AT MAX but don't really want to fork out for the waterproof headphones. cheers for the review mate👍
mickthegyp if searching on flat sand ect then just large, if your thinking of searching flat sand and also rockpools and tricky areas then deffo both coils
Wouldn't the max be able to be heard underwater like the pulse dive. I know it vibrates also but to bad the max doesn't have that opinion. The nokta simplex has that feature.
@@michaelshaffer8760 According to garrett I would be able to use the Max waist deep with the wireless headphones but would need specific waterproof headphones to be able to go totally submerged as the wireless link does not work with the max totally submerged, even if my head is still above water😁 as i only snorkel occasionally i would have to flip a coin as to whether i purchase waterproof headphones or the new pulse dive
How many of you have detected in the water or are thinking of giving it a try???
Thanks sid did not know the new coil was out will have to check out the price an compare against usage, either way not in a hurry at the moment👍
Worth looking at one for shallow water or rock pools for myself. Spend a lot if holidays down in Cornwall.
We are using it all the time with the small coil and find good stuff, so we need the large coil
Søren Lindstrøm will speed things up with the better ground coverage
im doing it for a month now find amazing stuff while searching
I just got one of the Pulse Dives and can't wait to try it.

Yeah i have also said all these hand held underwater detectors should be able to discrim nails
you have to buy a better detector for eliminating the metal items like nokta kruzer
Nice..... be great when we can get out to try em in the sea. Keep safe.....
Thanks Sid, another great video. I’ll be buying one of these with the big coil soon! Just got my new Simplex so will be great addition to the arsenal!
Hi, great video. Can you please add links for store where to buy?
Quite impressive depth, big difference between the two coils..
Eddiek yeah depth is looking great... dont think i would want it any deeper really for digging underwater
Beach hunter for life ,....i will need this
Hello, small question will the dirt or being underground effect the result you had in this video ???
Классная катушка ! Спасибо за обзор !
Excellent review and wow ..... big depth improvement. Thank you Sid!
Yeah great improvement on depth and coverage, should be great

Measuring the coil in metric but the detection in imperial units... Seems like you are confused with all the choices available there.
