    29:00 specific language how to give kiddo interview instructions, including:
    don't know, don't understand, and you're wrong
    31:45 I don't understand instruction
    34:30 you're wrong instruction
    35:50 ignorant interviewer
    36:10 tell the truth
    42:40 Limitations. young kids don't understand. Leading questions muck interview up.
    45:20 Building rapport: what do you like to do, tell me more, recent event, what happened next. Importance of wait time.

    Thank you Tom for a terrific talk. What do you think of conveying empathy to a child in the course of an interview, without reinforcing what she or he described (e.g., it sounds like that may have been really hard for you?)?

    FYI, "vrij" in "Mulder & Vrij" is pronounced like "fry", not "vreetch". Dutch is funny that way.
