  • 'These deeply illiberal, unBritish 15-minute cities are beyond the pale. They're hurting communities, hurting small businesses and they’ve got to go. And it didn’t take me 15 minutes to work that out.'
    Mark Dolan on the 'dystopian plans' for so-called '15-minute cities'.

      @@davidkennedy8929 revelations is a book in the bible. It pretty much predicts that a world government ruled by one man (antichrist) will come into power at the end of time. Restricting buying and selling for those who don't agree/worship him will be one of his policies, as well as some sort of tracking system/state. For centuries it was impossible to achieve, but with digitized money & crypto, and modern surveillance technology, it's now possible. This state will resemble the novel/show Brave New World. Most people will actually love it, but it'll be evil underneath. Bible says that Satan likes to appear as an angel of light. If you look around today that's what the WEF/UN does. They use nobel causes to further their agenda for control and rule. They want to destroy the nuclear family so that the state can raise children. They want to unite all countries so that there is no more war. They want global currency. They want the eradication of nation states (open borders), they even want unification of religion into one blob. They want to limit travel and form super cities with no go zones out in nature to "protect the environment. " They want less people being born to "save the climate." Unity and peace are used as vehicles for totalitarianism, and the people march along. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Now we have 15 minutes cities being proposed where everyone will have to live in a small area without being able to mix with anyone from any other part of the city. If the WEF gets their own way we won't even be able to own our own home - hence the massive rise in the price of things. They are pricing us out of the ability to own our own home. There's a lot of misunderstanding about this concept. First of all, for the people living in central parts of most British cities, this is not a new concept. The idea is you should be within walking distance of the facilities that you use more often, like groceries, primary schools, hairdressers, etc. Usually the problem is in the areas farther from the centre.
      Also access to public transport is key. Everyone benefits from a well-distributed public transport network.

I can tell you from personal experience, I am living a nightmare. My life is so restricted; it is worse than being in shielding during lockdown. I live alone, I feel I am mentally climbing the walls. All my family live, what used to be 1 to 2 hours away; with "Smart" motorway it is now 3 - 4 hours; so I rarely see them. Combine that with very restricted heating, and doing the boring same walk repetitively, it is a recipe for disaster. Resist it with all your might.

    The councils have been slowly & deliberately choking our streets for decades: Making good usable roads unusable, by using various bits of subterfuge, stratagem, jiggery-pokery; my small list is endless, but if you read it it, it will make you think: they've made roads one way; using traffic bumps where there is no need for them; lowering the speed limit on safe roads; making it almost impossible to park anywhere, unless you have a permit for that road; stopping, or cutting off people's escape routes into other roads, or making roads part bus lane only; adding cycle lanes; or adding mini traffic Islands, where there's no need for them; or putting in extra traffic lights on straight roads, or traffic lights, at roundabouts, and inside the roundabouts; or extra sets of crossings, where they are not needed or putting in concrete flower beds, which are dangerous, because they obstruct people's vision, or deliberately blocking off roads for up and coming road works for the latest barriers for weeks b4 they start the work, or leaving the road works unfinished for weeks, on purpose; now they are using anti terrorism laws to block other roads in the city centres.I could go on and on about the prevaricating excuses they use to justify what they are doing, but I think that these 15 minute cities, & these C40 cities, all in the name of the climate change myth, while China India Russia, & America are given carte blanche to polute, with no restrictions at at all, will be the straw which finally breaks the camel's back. People may be stupid, by they are not that stupid. These councillors need voting out to take back our streets.

    There is a big difference between trying to design towns and cities so that there is an array of amenities within walking distance vs. trying to force people to restrict their movement. This seems to be the latter, sold under the guise of the former. Edit: Also, if these policies are actually shutting down local businesses, doesn't that mean the locals are going to have to drive further to get what they need? So much for low emmissions.

    Maybe then they need to stop building more homes miles from the town centre they have within their address and start naming and building new towns in totality with their own holsital, ER, GP surgery, dentist (run by the nhs) supermarket and smaller shops, ie if you’re not gonna open a butcher or baker or grocers you can’t use that shop. No charity shops. Good buses and trains. But that isn’t what is happening they are just expanding existing towns until they meet up with the next london basically extends down to Brighton at this point. All the towns are merging into one long stretch of housing with no services. I’m now having to work 45 mins from where my home is and stay on a sofa between shifts to find work because the town in my address has such bad bus service and hardly any shops it’s unusable. Today I couldn’t even get online as the mobile networks aren’t upgrading their load capacity. Shops aren’t upgrading their wifi either. It took half and hour to try to get into online banking to move a bit of money to by a drink but by then i was half way to the bus stop to get home as I’d run out of time. As soon as you move a few feet away from the main town the mobile data works again isn’t much use. How can they be wanting all digital cashless etc when you can’t even use the basic 3G or 4G still.

  • @vincentcausey8498
    @vincentcausey8498 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    In a sane world, a 15 minute city would be designed from the ground up so that by giving residents all the facilities they need within 15 minutes they will use their cars less. In the dystopian top down derived world in which we increasingly find ourselves, they simply lock residents into zones delineated by a 15 minute walking distance from one end of the zone to the other. This is not only cruel and unnatural, it also shows a depressing lack of imagination on the part of policy makers - if we must live under a totalitarian system, I would at least prefer them to be creative enough to wow us with their ingenuity. But I guess you just can't find good autocrats these days.
