Part of the problem is profiteering by the big manufacturers. If a basic lightning cable will cost me £19 from the Apple Store (price at time of writing) I will *obviously* get a compatible cable for £1.50! What could POSSIBLY be worth £19 in a cable!? The same thing undoubtedly applies across the board leading to the popularity of compatibles and fakes. Some attention should be directed at overpricing by manufacturers.
@SamSitar I think you didn't watch the whole video. There is a part that mentions how the counterfeits increased price can make the customer feel safe they are getting the real deal.

I don't think those are counterfeit car parts, they appear to be used parts. Unless someone copied the doors and counterfeited the OEM part numbers and symbols, then installed them on a bunch of cars, drove said cars for many years, then took the "counterfeit parts" off of said cars and shipped them over there. Aftermarket stuff isn't counterfeit stuff. Unless the aftermarket parts or products are falsely labeled and sold as OEM parts or products, they are not counterfeit despite what the OEM manufacturer wants us to believe. My printer is a prime example of this, it tells me I'm using counterfeit toner cartridges and even goes as far as to tell me I'm breaking the law🤣🤣🤣. Aftermarket is not counterfeit! Using aftermarket parts in something you own is not illegal.
It was 15 years ago, this video. Now its no so much. There is no opening to remplace the battery. Many people carried spare batteries to change the empty one with a charged one. 3 batteries, at 40 euros each, VS 5 euros counterfeit. 120 vs 15. Plus the 30 euro charger, versus the included multibay on the 15 one 😅 There were counterfeiters, and fraudsters, you picked Who you wanted to get your money 😅
