Which perhaps explains why the chap in amsterdam laughed his socks off when he heard Troy calling fietsers "saaiklists" - perhaps even someone boring bike rider. English and dutch language are so very similar. Many English swear words are normal dutch words eg "fuck" = "fokken" (to breed). When english people visit the netherlands it probably makes them feel like they've travelled back in time to medieval London or something.

@@znarkz Most of us don't and also we are not stiff, but people are surprised when a stranger just turns up with a camera and then talks quite loudly in the streets. We feel embarrassed when we do that. Not everyone needs to hear what is said. Everybody likes to hear compliments but they will act surprised because to be honest, we do not get lots of compliments in our lives especially not in English. There is a difference being stiff or just act normal, not so overly excited when just walking down the streets. Swedish people don't do that either so.
