I’m looking to be a part of an undergraduate research program to, in lamen’s terms, collect and analyze otter poo. I have never done anything of the sort so I wanted to research how poo was analyzed.... I’m shocked and amazed by how much work goes into it

Is the method different for the extraction of microbial and host DNA? Is there really an obvious result between the two DNA?

      Thank you for your question.
There isn’t a way to distinguish between microbial and host DNA but if you do have questions about one of our DNA extraction kits, please contact our technical support team at thermofisher.com/askaquestion for additional information. Thank you!
