- I have owned my 2013 Mercedes SL550 Bi-Turbo for 2 months and 4,000 mi and the car is definitely excellent. I'll enjoy the broad power band, smooth ride, excellent turn-in, and overall balanced feel with excellent break feel.
The transformation is great because the car started at 25 and a half miles per gallon and now it gets about 29 miles a gallon. Also the ride is smoother because I upgraded the tires to a 18-in wheel with Toyo proxes Sport tires they are at 240 treadwear super soft compound and very quiet.
So far I have changed many fluids on this vehicle and the most noticeable difference was doing the intercooler fluid.

Oh yeah truly a hard to believe vehicle for how Dirt Cheap they are used it's truly one of the best production cars in the world for being a hard top convertible and being a great City car as of now it's the best city car I've ever owned very very easy to drive as far as highway driving it doesn't handle speed like my Corvette did and it can get a little uncomfortable after 2 hours of driving so I think the S-Class is definitely the better long-distance car but for a Citi car and being a hard top convertible I think it might be the best production car in the world for the value used

After doing the full trip to lake Tahoe and back I can definitely say it is an impressive vehicle. From the handling in the effortless power going up those mountains.
Fuel mileage was very good as well right around 30 highway miles a gallon

The car is an excellent example of any vehicle. It looks so great and performs well. I sat in one recently whilst looking for another vehicle, an older model with a Soft-top but much nicer than the cheaper model MB’s of the same age range.

Believe it or not that car is actually fairly easy to work on compared to many other vehicles That's what kind of drew me into it when I first worked on a 2008 s class Mercedes.

525 lb of torque available at 1800 RPM.
Hard to believe that car will scrub off and under 4 seconds 0 to 60 and weighs 4,000 lb.
If I didn't drive it I wouldn't believe it

Sweet! Great car! You will be amazed! Best city car iv ever driven out of 300 cars in my life. Easy to park. Quiet. Great gas mileage 20.7mpg avg at 26 mph city combo. 30.7 mpg at 65mph.

I have to disagree with the steering wheel. You can raise the seat for a better fit. My steering wheel is in the lowest position and telescoped furthest away from me (I'm short). For me, I have absolutely no issues with my beauty. I've had it for 7 months and can't wait to drive it as if I just bought it. If you can get one, don't hesitate. Mine's all black and it is a looker. It's the perfect car for coastal cruising.
Oh yeah everybody's body is different and I am happy your car fits perfect to your specific body type definitely excited you have a nice vehicle and if you ever do any fluids on it there's an entire playlist on my car on the channel here will give you all the fluids and information how to get your vehicle to run better than brand new👍

Definitely look at Dominator products more closely, especially for the fuel additives.
Engine knock is going to be a bigger concern than lack of lubrication in the Vegas heat.

You can lower the steering wheel, it’s powered. It’s on the left side of the steering column😉👍
That's the lowest it'll go which is about 1 in too high I find it interesting how the wheel will go up really high but it won't go down which is a little bit strange you'd think the universal joint in the steering wheel would be a little more flexible.
Very interesting however the car is great it just could have a couple subtleties that can make it better.

I just measured the height adjustment (imperial measurement) with a tape measure on the top of the steering column and the top/bottom edge of the gauge dash as a reference. Its 3-1/4” at the max height and 5-3/4” lowered max bottomed out. Let me know what you come up with.😉

I’m buying a 2012 slk 350 with 86k miles.. I want to do all the fluid changes since I’m not sure if the previous 3 owners have. What services as far as fluid changes or engine should I do to preserve the engine and transmission & get the most power? Or maintain it I should say lol

Good morning Eben nice car but when was the last time you cleaned the car it looks dirty especially the wheels.
I cleaned it about 4 days ago had a sprinkles here in Vegas and didn't get a chance to clean up before I went to Tahoe.
It's protected with a wash wax compound that was in the washing fluid.
I tell you what though there's a lot of bugs up there so now I'm going to have to spray the radiator with coil cleaner again.
Tons and tons of gnats.
For stage1 engine tune , gearbox can stay stock or needs tcu tune

Great question before I bought my car I talked to all the guys in the Mercedes club and no one told me of any problems they had so I figured it was be solid.
So far it's been just okay I had one hose pop on me It was a pressure fit hose from the factory The clamp wasn't the right pressure and it actually popped off on me in the highway I lost all my coolant and I had to put a hose clamp on.
Got lucky I wasn't in the middle of nowhere lol.
The other thing is the trunk motor is off sync so it needs to be recalibrated however it's still works fine and I replaced the shock struts.
That's it That's the only problems I've had in the car since I bought it.
It has 60,000 miles on it.
@@Syntheticoilprotection here in uk for same money i can get 2016 sl500 (older shape) but with newer engine that produces 449hp same as in s class coupe s500 but still 7g
Or 2016 facelift version sl400 with newer 3.0 367ps engine and 9g gearbox
Ive heard with facelift version they managed to rid of some bugs from previous pre facelift
Not sure exactly what those are but read somewhere
For everyday driving im leaning towards facelift 3.0 9g version but heart still wants that v8 rumble 🤦♂️

I looked up a Dino video and someone was making 407 wheel horsepower and I think they were making $449 wheel torque.
My car here in Las Vegas at 2500 ft above sea level had 91° out with a 240 lb passenger in the car going uphill at 1 and 1/2° incline My car scrubbed off a 3.8 seconds here to 60.

Yeah if you want to go Corvette I would do the 2013 60th anniversary six-speed manual base model amazing vehicle very quiet tons of power amazing fuel mileage I would say it's just as good as my car for the money you would just have to find the right one with the right mileage which I couldn't and that's why I went with this car because it was such good mileage and in such great shape but if I found the other car for $24,000 I would have definitely bought the Corvette but I just couldn't find one.
The SL550 is more luxury definitely overall better but for the money the Corvette is a better value if you can buy it at the right price if you are a true driver if you just want a luxury car then the SL550 is better but I personally love a good six-speed manual and I love the fuel mileage of the Corvette. 32.7 mpg at 70mph
Most Corvettes aren't near as comfortable however in 2012 they upgraded the seat and the seat is very comfortable in the 2012 Corvette and the 2013 the SL550 is just as comfortable and it has the massaging seat which is a little bit nicer but the 2013 fits my back a little bit better with the way the seat design is I'm 5 9 1/2
