    Thanks for this. This format is great as many manufacturers do not clearly explain the differences and use cases amongst their own tire options.

      Glad it helped! Yeah, manufacturers can definitely make things confusing sometimes. Got any other tires you’ve been curious about?

      Speaking from Gen3 Tacoma Off-road perspective... there's Kuhmo and Maxxis. Given the economy, could be fun to compare store brands... Mavis Tire, etc. Weight is important for fuel economy... I'm looking for Passenger, not Light Truck. Anyway...

    Just put a set of Hankook At2 xtreme's on its only been a week but I have zero complaints so far with the snow and ice traction. I can make most of my commutes in the snow, Ice, and a mix in 2wd with confidence again!

    I have ATMs on a Prado and AT2s on a Hilux. In both cases they are P-metric tires(Not LT). They are both soft an confortable. ATM is a bit noisier in general, but at high speed AT2 starts to catch up. In both cases noise is tolerable. Grip is great on both, including wet asphault. I have no snow or ice around here so I can not comment on this surface. Good in gravel roads, sand and fire roads. Have not tried in mud, but I have in dirt roads in slightly wet conditions. All pretty good. Have had the ATMs fir five years. Treadwear is good. Still hace a few years left in them. AT2s have only been on the pickup for a couple of weeks. So far, they have been quite good. I still hace to try them out in more extreme conditions.

      Thanks for the review mate. All in all if you'd also try out the Xtreme version you'd see that its got the best of both these tires ATM and simple AT2 I mean.

    I just put a set of the AT2 Extreme on my 21 Tacoma Trd OR. I wanted a less aggressive AT that lasts longer. Consumer Reports said they should go 70k miles with normal driving. I went through a set of Falken Rubitrek AT in 29k miles.😭 These Hanooks do squeal easier in curves, hopefully the harder rubber. They grip well & ride better than the Falkens.

      Sounds like you made a solid choice with the AT2 Extreme! Bummer about the Falkens wearing out so fast. Hopefully, these Hankooks will give you the longevity you're looking for. The squeal might be due to the harder rubber. Let us know how they hold up over time!

      falken is a horrid tire, years ago i had a car that with them, they wear out much faster then they claim, i wont touch that brand ever, i currently have a nissan frontier, it came with dynapro atm, im replaceing them with the at xtreme

      @@eraserta The Falken Sincera SN250as are awesome car & suv tires. Very grippy, good price and last 60-70k though 🙄

      @@Rigo9 I have about 7k miles on them now. Wearing fine. They are good in rain, snow & decent on ice. They ride & steer pretty good and the noise is not obnoxious like an MT tire. I doubt I’ll get 70k out of them, but if I can get 40-50k I’ll be happy.

    Hello, I have an SW4 and bought three Hankook AT2 Xtreme tires and one Hankook AT2 by mistake. Now I’m considering putting all four on my car since the difference between these models doesn’t seem too significant. Do you think it’s a bad idea to mix these two references? I’d appreciate your opinion. Thank you!

    • @comparethetire
      @comparethetire  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes its not a good idea at all.
      The best thing would be to just get another xtreme tire.

    Replacing my ko2s after 50k. Looking for smoother ride but still have some off-road look and winter performance. Most of my driving is on road and highway. Which of these tires is best for 18 tundra crewmax ?

    • @comparethetire
      @comparethetire  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What was your experience with the ko2s?
      Out of these, Dynapto at2 Xtreme.

    • @bigdoba317
      @bigdoba317 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@comparethetire they were good tires - certainly made the ride rougher than stock but not bad for aggressive tire. After 50k they started to get louder as they wore. Still probably 10k left on tread. Still looking for something softer riding but still looks good. I also like the white lettering.

    • @comparethetire
      @comparethetire  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea they do that, actually they have dual compound with harder stuff underneath. That affects their wet traction the most, and yes also causes more growling and in groove resonance.

    • @bigdoba317

      @@comparethetire that’s good to know. That’s said, should I stick with the BFGs, maybe KO3s, or switch to the extremes?

      You should go with AT2 Xtreme.
