- Akiko Takase has accomplished much in her young career in the anime industry. Within 5 years she was able to become a Chief Animation Director at KyoAni and take charge of the Violet Evergarden anime, a series where she even illustrated its LN counterpart!! This girl is so under appreciated for the work she's done! You can tell she really put her heart into her projects, and Violet Evergarden was no exception.
TFW all 14 episodes of Violet shared just 44 key animators, and mostly in teams working on certain episodes. The average # of key animators was 9, that's crazy for how stupidly detailed the designs are. The # of animation directors per episode is even crazier, an average of 2.2 per episode (half of the episodes had 1 animation director, which is nuts). KyoAni's efficiency is next level
yeahh i dont know how they do it! i guess that just goes to show the quality of work animators put out once they are paid/taken care off properly😂

Love the video! Always good to see KyoAni animators getting some attention! That being said though:
KyoAni animators don't take as long as 5-7 years promote from being an inbetweener, it's more like 1-3 years. Skipping the step entirely is still one hell of an achievement either way though
Her debuting with only 6 KAs isn't too out of the ordinary with KyoAni, most of their episodes sit between 6-10 KAs per episode
While she did debut as an AD in Hibike, the first time she showed her skill was in the Violet CM which sparked a lot of hype. She was the AD and designer for that commercial

I really hate the term "TALENT" & "PRODIGY" it's like you are disregarding all the hard work she put in her craft. I appreciate the video and it is well done and well-written. But I really hate people who disregard the time and effort she put in her craft and just looking at her results.
Artists are not born with the knowledge of how to draw anatomy, perspective, composition, etc. We are learning it and Akiko Takase just exposed herself in art and she really is raised in an environment where she is supported. Being TALENTED AND PRODIGY has nothing to do with the results she had today--it is all pure SKILL and HARD WORK.

The only that i somewhat criticise on Violet Evergarden is that the appearance of Violet. In the war it she looks like a normal teenage girl she was so small back then yet after she was injured she suddenly became mature like a 19 year old or something where she said that she was somewhere in the age of 14. Did she hit puberty while she was hospitalised?
That's the anime fucking up. She never, EVER says she is 14 in the light novels. In fact, in the LN, during the scene when she is asked how old she is, Violet actually answers "I am sorry, but I do not know my age."
As someone with 3 sisters it’s entirely possible that she could look that way. Especially when we don’t know her exact age. That’s also when you compare her to her appearance in the Violet Evergarden Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll. Where we see her when she’s an adult.
