What a great idea!! The pebble wall is really awesome too. Also, it's nice to see another star wars reptile fan! I'm actually making tatooine for a leopard gecko :)

@@ReptileWay thank you! I managed to find a free 25 gallon on marketplace, so I'm working with that, but will hopefully upgrade in the future. Definitely will keep coming back to your channel!

Hi I'm thinking of building this for my children's python, I have a question. For someone using heat lamps, will it produce enough heat like through all that foam to the cave on the left ?

Hi thanks for the comment. The heat lamps you would place to the right side of the enclosure, so it can bask on that flat bit of rock. This design, with regards to the cave is to provide a cool spot and to allow for temperature gradient, as you don't want your entire enclosure to be a hot temperature throughout. However, this design was built taking into account a warmer climate, so that's why this cave was created as it could provide a cooler refuge, particularly on a warm day.
If you live in a colder climate and and you don't have the need for a cool refuge, you could open up the top of the cave slightly to allow some heat from the heat lamps to reach in the cave more.
OR it is possible to create a hot spot within your build, so say the base of the cave could be a hot/warm spot by incorporating a heat cord into your build. However, you really need to educate yourself on how to do this and know a reliable brand, how you can install it in your build without having a fire risk, being able to control the temperature via a reliable thermostat etc. Going down this avenue I would say is somewhat advanced level building.
Or you can go with a completely different design to better match your climatic conditions and the use of heat lamps.
      Goodluck with your build!

Okay thank you! I think I might use the heat lamp on right side to bask on the rock. With just wondering do you know where I should put the thermostat heat probe? Would it put it on the basking spot rock or like at the top right under the heat lamp? Also how many cm do you think I need to make the basking spot rock away from where the heat lamp will be?

do you keep the foam in place just with wedging it into the enclosure? i want to build a basking platform for my skink using foam boards without spray foam but i don't know how i would keep the foam together before i get the grout on

I just use Aquarium grade silicone to stick it to the glass as well as to stick each board together. So personally I use Selleys clear glass silicone sealant 310g and on the packaging it will say for windows and aquariums. I use this one because it is reptile safe.
