1. I am 100% using the army helmet! It's so freaking cute! 2. Use an old reusable BPA free water bottle. Not the one time use ones and it has to be made out of sturdy materials. Take off the lid (or not if the hole is big enough for the snake to crawl in) and depending on how you're going to use it cut off the bottom of the bottle to make a tunnel. Decorate it if you want and what I do to keep the bottle from rolling around is to attach it to some cork bark or something else and that keeps it pretty sturdy.

I (successfully) keep and breed a trio of leopard geckos in a really big enclosure. There are 4 hiding boxes (currently just the little generic black ones), but what they really seem to enjoy is that I put artificial monstera leaves all around the top of their living area, like a canopy. They feel super secure because there are so many hiding places, and they like traveling around on the top of them when I put some mealworms up there. I feel like it's probably a somewhat natural sort of situation for them, despite everything being artifical and washable. They use the entire enclosure, and they get along extremely well because they have so many places to hide, and to dig. My Honduran milk snake also loves the monstera leaves. His cool hide is just a pile of them.
My method for decorating hides is hot gluing river rocks (cleaned well, of course) all over the hide. Sanding the plastic before gluing can help them stick. It can be annoying to clean though

Check with your state and/or country to make sure the snails are legal. They are not legal in the US. (I suggest the freezer). Also wear gloves when handling them due to meningitis bugs they carry. I am sure you have researched all this before hand but I hope you are not getting them where it is illegal.
@@Offutticus Yup, of course I researched; I have wanted them for 17 years and I had the breeder confirm my husbandry information. @@Offutticus Yup, of course I researched; I have wanted them for 17 years and I had the breeder confirm my husbandry information. I live in Canada where they are legal to purchase from breeders that do not import. I bought 2 to be housed in separate tanks and I have all of the necessary supplies to care for them (i.e. gloves). Not all hobbyists are irresponsible 👍
And I know that they can still reproduce on their own, but it seems like it's less often compared to when they're housed together. I could be wrong on that one though
Emily: they are only $1 you can't beat that
98 cents store: am I a joke to you
weirdo John lol
Thats a thing 👁👄👁
@@littleelmoore yeah I've never seen a 98 cent store but I've seen a 99 cent store in California
*€5,99 tourist stores are screaming*

I think Emily needs to tell us where she gets most of her supplies. So we can save the most money.
Ashley Clutinger One tip is to buy your sphagnum moss at the hardware store! You can get a humongous bag for the same price pet stores sell those tiny boxes for. 😌
@@brookeelle6879 That seems to be the case with a lot pet, and other, supplies. A lot of things that are marketed as being for X are often cheaper at the hardware store or when being sold as for Y even though they're the exact same product, just with different packaging.
She has a lot more videos than this one where she talks about things like bedding and such in seprate videos and what is the best and cheapest.
I love the milk after having fruit loops it tastes amazing.
You've been married how long yet didn't realise Ed drank the cereal milk? 😂😂 (I do too btw)
I was actually surprised that some people doesn't drink cereal milk. LOL. We always drink the milk after the cereal is done.

@@edsweet2858 i feel you
I have a wood wine rack as a climbing toy for my ball python. He loves it.
Ryann Heninger that’s a good idea! I’m always repurposing my used objects for pets.
This is probably one of the only comments not about cereal milk, thank you!
I made my hide out of some rabbit wood chews glued together!!! Nagini loves it, its her favorite hide
Ed I'm with you on the cereal milk. It's the best part of breakfast.
And also I was wondering how you get the cut edges smooth. I forgot about a soldering iron. 👍🏻
Got to be chocolatey milk!
Chocky. Milk
Sorry, I'm on Ed's side when it comes to the cereal milk
Lol I never drink cereal milk
I never eat cereal or drink the milk from it
I pour cereal and drink the milk from it but dont eat the cereal
same here. we always drink the cereal milk. I was actually surprised that some people find it gross. LOL
iBlingYoFace I agree
I’m with Ed! Always drink the cereal milk! You’ve been missing out Emily!
I’ve never heard of someone not drinking the milk.

I agree with Ed too I love the milk but not the cereal chunks !!!!!

With Emily especially because my parents made me drink the milk as a child!

Definitely agree with Ed the cereal milk. Also Emily should definitely have her own cooking show 🤣🤣🤣
Not if she can't boil eggs hahahaha
I agree with Emily on the cereal and milk think.

Sorry Emily, I'm with Ed on this one.
I agree with Emily; cereal milk is disgusting.
*drinks the rest of the cereal milk*
Emily: “Don’t bother the background we are cooking dinner”
Me: *see that they are cooking eggs for dinner* :0
I think they're actually potatoes
It eggs I’m pretty sure
I mean its 10 pm at night, peak lazy dinner time
Pretty sure those are dumplings
@@d1amondk1ttyyt60 well I'm pretty sure they're boiled eggs
Love the cones!
We’ve used:
Haribo tubs with hole cut in- we cover them in fake grass to make them rougher
Bird houses
Detergent tablet plastic box
Mini drawers with small holes for our baby hognose
Baskets of all kinds
We also added shelves with foliage for different levels and we added wooden peg coat hooks for them to use all the height of the viv as well as the length. All our bowls are dog bowls too so that can have the extra hiding space.
I love that Emily calls the reptiles friends. My friend calls them creepy.😂
I thought you were saying the flowers gave snakes some "old factory" smells.. And I was like "yeah I mean snakes like old factories I guess"
That makes me confused
🤣🤣🤣 dead! Reminded me of something I was watching where this guy went into an old abandoned factory or grain storage type facility, I think in Australia, and there were just soooooooooo many mice or rats (been so long idr which) but it was like the floor was moving because there were literally just thousands upon thousands; I remember thinking they could bring in a few dozen carpet pythons to just go nuts and clear it out. So in that case, I'm sure some snakes _would_ like that "old factory"! 🤦🏻♀️😜😂
What do you do with the cereal milk then if you arent drinking it?
Lemme guess, give it to Ed?
Give it to your milk snake, duh
pour it in the sink over all the other dishes for mom (me) to find later. lmao.
My ex and his kid both don't drink the milk and it drives me crazy. Animal agriculture is bad enough on the environment and the animals, it feels so disrespectful to just be dumping gallons and gallons of milk down the sink every year just because "i dont liiikeee it".
I'll leave my soapbox now. lmao
@@iimuffinsaur on no dairy is horrible for them!
is that why he's your ex lol
sorry emilly but i agree with ed: cereal milk is the greatest like frosted flakes or cinamon toast crunch milk... yummy
Yuck
Ik I'm late but reeses pieces cereal is also good
Me too
Sinomon tost crunch milk is Soo good

Knowing you guys, you probably told them--but I wonder what the cashier would have thought of your basket of purchases?? BTW, the army helmet is my favorite! 😂
I watched this while making breakfast and saw that blooper about hard boiling eggs right as I was making my own! 10-12 minutes Emily 😂😂 if you're going to make that many at once definitely 12! Love the little bits of your life we get to see, it's so cute. Great video!
Not so much an actual product, but I've got wild strawberries in my bioactive cornsnake tank and they're doing amazing. XD Really hardy, easy plants that can take a beating and doesn't need a tropical climate. They are just about to flower for the first time. Winter strawberries!
woah, thats so cool!
Omg I can move some into my geckos tank when they bloom!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
@@gloomshroom7880 Move them in now! They'll take more energy to bounce back if you move them once they start flowering. :)
Just watch out for mites and stuff.
@@helenp703 I love it! It's a shame I cant post photos. ^^
@@BringDeathByPickles i gotta wait until they sprout because otherwise i dont know what im digging, but ill be sure to move them before they flower!!

Hey Emily,
I have a video idea. Can you show us your rodent set up for feeding your reptiles? I think it would be really cool to see how to set it up/ how you prep stuff for meals!
Emily and Ed: discussing the gender of a plastic snake
Me: dead 🤣
*sex of the snake. Gender and sex are not the same
@@cleopad5 thank you 🥰
cleopad5 uh.
@@cleopad5 what is the difference? (Sorry I don't know a lot about snakes)
@@Cereal_Ki11er sex is the organs they're born with, gender is the human concept of how you identify. For example your sex could be male but identify as a woman. Animals don't have a gender but they have a sex
