Why would anyone in this economy want any cards at all ? What is going on with dudes over spending on cards of people where they have to wait 20 years just to find out if that player becomes a hof legend player?
Prices went up so scalpers went away and the normal customer would rather buy a $30 auto then rip 6 packs of junk base and inserts with nothing guaranteed…
Nobody wants the “guaranteed jersey card” that comes with those garbage boxes. They’re literally just thick cards with an unworn piece of cloth in the middle to make you feel like you got something when you got useless junk not worth it’s weight in cardboard. I recommend Epack for hockey cards and marvel cards/comics. All packs are Hobby and you can combine base cards into more rare parallels which you get “achievement cards” for that are amazing and super short print. COMC is sick too, just buy the singles you want unless you’re looking to rip packs. In that case just save the 30$ you were gonna spend on a blaster, save it and buy a hobby box when you can afford it. I wish I knew all those things years ago.
It's simple the prices are way too high and panini quality is way down, retail sucks starting all through 2022 and continues to get worse, panini retail sucks, even hobby quality is down

Preach! Sports cards got hot during covid and every company doubled their price on the product. Not to mention it went up 5x to get a card graded. 5x.... thats absolutely ridiculous
Consider yourself lucky to have options. Here in the Seattle area, all those shelves get wiped out in a matter of days and there is nothing available to buy. I think half get stolen but still! Lol
Out of curiosity, what brand of cards should I be looking for and buying? Is there a certain type that will give me a better shot at pulling something great? Thx advance
This is what happens when you flood the market with product, and the people buying the product don't actually want cards of the players, but just want the money hit. That great wall is an indictment of the people buying the product and the dummy company's flooding the market with chase cards. LET'S GO!!!! Lol.
I went to my Walmart yesterday and they had about 20 packs of you-gi-oh and 3 blasters of Prizm draft basketball. And about 4 days ago there were 100+ random boxes. It’s still selling like it’s 2020 in my area. Especially football and 2024 baseball.
I wish I can see this at my walmart! You are a lucky man! Everytime they restock gone in a few hours. The only time I've seen something like this is small rural areas of towns I've never heard of only becausr of my work do I get to see this and when I do I buy then all!
It’s 2024 and I live in the DFW area, I can confirm the shelves are still like this. It’s basic economics. You either have it more expensive and available or cheaper and competitive. I prefer cheaper and competitive. I liked the rush of waking up and running to Target to see what’s available. Price will eventually go down and then they will be missing from the shelves again
ALSO....... making hits like the kaboom in absolute, literally absolutely impossible..I haven't seen but like 1 or 2 ppl break open tons blasters and pulled a kaboom...but in hobby, they're pulling both 1 of 1's, gold and base left and right..hell, backyard breaks has probably pulled more kabooms from hobby than the general public has pulled from retail! Lol
Cost increase is unfortunate. Increased cost, increased print runs, destroyed the market and the rarity. and decreasing the chances of hitting anything that’s worth the box with no longer giving autos. I remember when all mega boxes gave Autos. Most blasters gave autos and always memorabilia cards. My area does not have any football or basketball products other than Score and Hoops. No Prizm, no optic, no mosaic no illusions, no select, no Donruss. All kinds of chronicles, racing, wwe, ufc. I can’t even get baseball unless it’s trash series 1 or heritage.
Stores in Southern California never look like that even after restock. I bet we are solely keeping Panini and topps in business. Socialist who are broke love calling free enterprise greedy. Its the lazy thing that brokesters do. Panini is rewarding their customers that spend real money and not fools that go to the Walmart and weigh boxes to find out what they may pull. Nobody was greedy when the free government money was coming every week.
My Walmart has started discounting blasters and I love it. They are selling for the old prices. Panini is going out of business as soon as Topps is done being taken over.
They raised the prices to try and cut breakers out. Now nobody wants it.
I don’t
wonder where those scalpers went? they should swing by and grab all that stuff. lmao scalpers had to find a real job.
For real😂
The cards are not selling no more
Topps chrome still rotting there where it belongs too 🤣
Chrome os trash

The over production, a.k.a. new junk, wax era and retail. Pulling a hit is like scratching a lottery ticket.
Holy Cow, we have nothing at our Wal-Mart, football is dang near impossible to find. My wife & I are going to open our Hobby Shop soon!!!
Why would anyone in this economy want any cards at all ? What is going on with dudes over spending on cards of people where they have to wait 20 years just to find out if that player becomes a hof legend player?
My Walmart has literally no cards on the shelves 💀
Wish my walmart looked like this shelves are always empty
Prices went up so scalpers went away and the normal customer would rather buy a $30 auto then rip 6 packs of junk base and inserts with nothing guaranteed…
Damn wish my Walmart had a wall like this geezus. They don't even have packs at mine lol
Well what brand or brands to buy, seriously need to know
It's simple the prices are way too high and panini quality is way down, retail sucks starting all through 2022 and continues to get worse, panini retail sucks, even hobby quality is down
You must live in the fancy area!!!!! Our 2Walmart’s got rid of cards a while back :(
Gated community. 0 shoplifters inside the gates
That’s weird , in my town they’re like all sold out except for new basketball cards , football sells out the first day or two
Let it go back to pre-COVID! I’ll be waiting to buy some Prizm basketball blasters for 14.99 again 🤣
The real problem is most of those boxes don’t have $100+ hit in them and people who want to resell don’t even touch those boxes so the my can’t scalp them
The prices is just way too high. The trash players they put in them boxes make you feel like you’ve been cheated or scammed
This has to be in a good neighborhood.... how is this not locked up
Seriously, this would be emptied in a matter of hours here in Seattle
They want it, but not at this prices.
Preach! Sports cards got hot during covid and every company doubled their price on the product. Not to mention it went up 5x to get a card graded. 5x.... thats absolutely ridiculous
There’s only a problem to the reseller babies that can’t flip anymore 🤣🤣
Panini is a trash company.
Can't wait till Topps gets the licenses and crushes them out of existence.
Same here both wal/target loaded with boxes use to have lines every Friday. Now the selfs are overflowing with everything
It also depends on the area not every area has buyers . There are thousands of walmarts out there.
My Walmart looks nothing like this 😅
In 2020 & 2021 I would spend 500 a pop minimum, not anymore its garbage
Consider yourself lucky to have options. Here in the Seattle area, all those shelves get wiped out in a matter of days and there is nothing available to buy. I think half get stolen but still! Lol
Out of curiosity, what brand of cards should I be looking for and buying? Is there a certain type that will give me a better shot at pulling something great? Thx advance
I probably bought 2 items in all my decades of collecting baseball cards at those types of stores. Nobody buys from there...
Panini got greedy 😂
All the stores near me have ZERO basketball. My city has 3 Walmart stores, 2 Meijer's, and a Target with almost no basketball at all.
If my walmart was like that i would scream of joy😭😂
Our Walmart is wiped clean I keep checking for prizm baseball, and nothing!!! They are so low they virtually don’t have squat
These will start to move once they hit clearance like back in the good old days lol 😅
Overpriced boxes, I remember when boxes of card used to be 8 to 12 dollars.
People ran out of the unemplyement checks
What type if walmart u go to they only got baseball and hockey cards wherever i go
Junk wax, junk slabs, junk modern everything now. VINTAGE!
Once they took out all the numbered cards and "1 auto or mem per box", that's what killed retail.. panini just doesn't give a fuck..
Optic, Prizm, mosaic blasters need to be $22-$25. Topps flagship baseball blasters need to be $15-$16.
Damn here in Australia there are hardly any basketball cards at retail shops maybe EB games at best
Bro that EXACTLY like it was when I started collecting again! It was all 2016/17 products on clearance though. If only we knew🤣
Stores in Southern California never look like that even after restock. I bet we are solely keeping Panini and topps in business. The only thing that there’s plenty of his hockey here in Southern California otherwise I’ve never seen a shelf like that in almost four years. You are very, very fortunate Degen. Like+subscriber
“Nobody want’s it” 😂
there wasn't one single box of Topps update in those shelves. people bought the best "return" product and left everything else! Same at my Walmart. edit i saw a retail box at the very end. I would've bought every pack hahahaha.
Anyone that opens cards understands it's generally a net loss. But if you can atleast feel like you got kind of close to value and also got a couple PC additions then it's whatever. But now days everyone's just getting nothing for their money.
I'm proud of everyone for just saying no to these terrible products at terrible prices.
Also, it doesn't help that they've all but eliminated auto/relic cards from retail boxes. Best you can get now is high numbered parallels. Just trash.
I spent 2k and pulled shit wasn’t expecting anything special but at least good card art and players I like but no. Thx panini I miss the old upper deck and fleer days.
Screw the flippers
I sold a lot of Valuable 8O era big home runner hitter cards for like less than 100$ 29 years ago every Ken Griffey rookie every Barry Bonds rookie, Mark McGuire 84 USA edition rookie card and many more I had a whole small chest of nothing but the greats if the early to late 80s cards for nothing. One of the worst mistakes of my life😢
It’s all commons. In the old days, you could buy a retail box and still pull out low numbered autos. My best retail pull was a 1999 UD Black Diamond insert of, then, rookie Tory Holt with two pieces of football on it. The odds in both hobby and retail boxes was 1 in every 1,199 packs! I still own the card.
Lucky, all my retail stores have 2 opened boxes on the shelves with 2 cards left
Meanwhile in Canada it’s empty 85% of the time
Wat brands are the best to get from Walmart, Target, Walgreens ect.?
Bought a box of topps heritage high number from Walmart a few weeks ago and got a couple good rookies, a numbered card, and a memorabilia card in it. Did good on that one!
