StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed and released by Blizzard Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. You are Hierarch Artanis, leader of the mighty protoss race. Years ago, your homeworld of Aiur fell to the merciless zerg Swarm. Now, at long last, you have raised a powerful fleet of warships known as the Golden Armada, and are poised to reclaim your world. But an ancient evil-Amon-threatens this destiny and the fate of the entire galaxy. Only you can reunite the protoss factions and defeat the coming darkness before it consumes all life in the sector.
The sheer strength of the "My life for Aiur" during zeratul's last stand always makes me cry like a little bitch
Yup, as much as I hated Zeratul's voice acting in WoL, here, you can really hear in the voice that this time, it's not just a phrase. Zeratul knew damn well this is his last strike. Voice acting was superb here.
it just amazes me how much Raynor is respected because he helped evacuate Aiur and became history himself by creating the biggest revolution, and rescuing Kerrigan.
"Did you know this warrior?"
"No, but I know his story. I know all their stories. None of'em ever think it'll end like this." And yet it does for so many. Too real of a quote for a computer game.
Yeah, funny to think that likely the vast majority of soldiers join armies because of propaganda or stupid PR promises that are rarely kept or achievable...

I know, it's beautiful. I love how you can see how out of place he is when peace came. It's exactly how he said it in WoL after siding with Tosh during Prison Break: "Matt, you'll live on, and help build the brighter future. But people like me and Tosh won't live to see it." He didn't see himself being a peacekeeper building a better tomorrow, he just wouldn't feel right fullfilling that role. All he could do is go back to where it all started, to Mar Sara.

I would still say Artanis had a small part to play in this, due to him not heeding zeratuls warning before the invasion of aiur. But whos to say it would of played out any differently.

It would be like if America ignored Wilsons apology to the nation and Eisenhower's warning of the coming Military industrial complex....oh wait. But yeah, i do agree and i think the protoss had a terran moment, it would be like postponing the D-Day landings, after so many delays it was decided the troops cant wait much longer, the time to strike is going to happen. except the results werent the same

That was my dream too, but then I thought according to today's trend, it will be ruined by all the agenda, SJW propoganda, politics and all that shit... So it is better to remember the story as it was in SC games

Definitely a beautiful ending. SCII began with that line in the teaser from Tychus. It ends with that line having cast down the ultimate threat, and Jim finally getting the love and peace he has always deserved.

uhm, that was a delusion created by Jim's brain. he went and killed himself. there was no happy ending for Jim. his brain just ended it after all of those troubling years.

If you notice, the crystals in the Xelnaga sleeping chambers are the same crystal used to destroy the planet. Of course maybe Blizzard is just being efficient and reusing models.
But I like to think that a weapon that can destroy a planet to the Xelnaga is basically just a lightbulb.

Well, what can i say. By far the best Starcraft 2 cinematic video I've ever seen, I have played some of the game buy not all the way and not saying watching this has spoiled any thing for me. The ending was very touching but felt like quite the cliffhanger, sort of. Reason being is how it showed Jim seeing Sara and no one ever seen Jim ever again after words. What could have really happened with those two, who really knows.

@@ouros2938 I think it was more that he realized that Artanis was wielding his Gauntlet more than he realized. as through in game conversation in the first of the 3 Korhal missions. It's unverbally expressed to Raynor that Zeratul is no longer around.

But if i look at 24:13 "the regrowth of a barren planet, without the knowledge who did this," seems to me like kerrigan created a view things where she can life with jim in peace or she travels around with jim and tries to atone for the things she did as the queen of blades.
I don´t thing she would ever leave jim alone, if she were still alive.

@@pierrecaesarassyurahtendea5589 nerve cords, it is basically a type of hair that allows them to chain up to a collective and allows protoss to share thoughts, memorise and emotions. However it was corrupted by amon and those with the nerve cords got controlled by him. It's basically a focus on individualism vs colletivism

There is a hell a ton of lore. I guess that's why they can never do an adaptation of the game into a movie or series. It's just too damn huge.

There's that possibility but the overwhelming expectation from the fanbase would surely discourage a film adaptation. Here still hoping it would happen.
Guy from the Internet hopefully starcraft 3 comes out and strikes gold and sparks interest in a film series. The expectations would be enormous but they could pull it off. They should keep it in house and do it themselves, god knows they have the $$$ given success of OW. Speaking of OW, the cinematics in that game are further proof Blizz can create compelling animations/stories in an expansive universe on their own. Ive wanted a SC movie since Brood War :( and honestly wtf, star wars does so well critically and commercially and they suck! Seriously SC puts that entire universe to shame. So yeah, hopefully SC3 is insane, and im 100% positive blizzard has no plans for an SC3 until augmented reality is a lot more mainstream. I saw the hololens minecraft demo and instantly knew that tech is a match made in heaven for RTS games. A big SC3 launch would for sure pave the way for a film. They could do it so well! I could totally see Blizz partnering with Netflix to even do a really high prodiction mini series similar to Black Mirror.
Back in the day I wanted this cast for a SC live action movie: Bruce Willis as Jim Raynor, Halle Berry as Sarah Kerrigan, Sean Connery as Arcturus Mengsk, Gene Hackman as Edmund Duke, and Jim Carrey as infected Terran XD

I know a few people are wondering for the mass haircutting cinematic, what about the rest of the templar? How did they know to sever their nerve cords? Well they still be in the khala, so when the other templar were told by artanis to cut it, all of them could hear it at once
I think we should assume that every single templar cut their cords at that time, don't know how exactly :D

well, when selendis and other templar hesitate, i think they send the message through the khala to everyone who is still connected to it. I mean, "Our thoughts are one!"
They hesitate, that's why they just don't all chop at once. They're removing themselves from something they've pretty much always known. It was a big deal to chop their ponydreads.
Such a bizarre cliff hanger after all that with Raynor. I mean did he just kill himself or what?
Imagine that at one point in time Protoss and The Elite will meet and start fighting...

Artanis mournfully takes a knee because he knows that despite the old myths being mostly bullshit, he is standing in front of what is effectively a God; The last of the beings who created everything he knows, and it's sacrificing itself so that the rest of the universe can continue on. my life for aiur :(
this story has been by my side since i oculd think and play games. my father gave me SC1:BW back in 2005 when i was 6 years old since it was one of his favorites games ever together with WC3 but this game just stuck with me. when the first expansion dropped years later i was damn hyped for every single expansion. Bought every single on the minute it came out and played through every campaign more than i can count. I spent WAY to much of my life in thi series and it has an AWESOME ending. Screw Link or mario or sonic. im happy to have played this while growing up :)
People say Reynor was hallucinating at the end, but I think (don't know if this is real) who he sees is the real kerrigan, and she just took the form of her human self, kinda like how ouros was tassadar the whole time.
