Thanks for uploading this! Was curious about what the different dubs sounded like. English takes the cake for me, but I also liked Aloy in German, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian. Honorable mention goes to the Japanese translation and the voice actor's delivery of Aloy's lines when she realizes that Rost plans to leave her (5:31)...I was surprised and heartbroken all over again upon hearing it T_T
Tatiane Keplmair, my favorite voice actress giving Aloy life in Brazilian Portuguese 😍 There's a story she told about the game's location. She said that at the time she went to locate, she had dyed red hair, and her hair is very long and voluminous, just like Aloy's. There was a representative from the game company in the studio to accompany the recordings, he was an American. When he saw her, he was impressed, he said that she was Aloy in person. He was like "Oh my god", all the time :v
This the 1st time I’ve seen an Arabic dub for a video game and I got to say I really enjoyed Aloy and Rost’s Arabic voices. I wonder if there’s a Turkish dub because I’d like to hear what Aloy would sound like in Turkish.
I've already played through it in English and decided to try out Russian and it's pretty good so far, but I might be switching to Brazilian Portuguese now lol
As a German, the voice actors in German are extremely default. in every movie it's the same actors. That's why i have the voices in English. ( i also watch movies in the original language mostly with subtitles, especially if they're in a Germanic language)
@@RachelDavis705 yes, of course, but that's not the problem. All you need is to land the articulations, it doesn't matter if the original person says A, but you hear an O. Unless you're good at lip reading it is no big deal. The German localization studio that worked on Horizon just terribly messed up the timings.

I appreciate this kind of content. My curiosity is though, being someone who doesn't understand anything but English - are the voice actors as good as they are in English (how I perceive it). It's weird that the German dub reminds me of being on an Emirates flight! Should be Arabic really, because that's what happened, lol. But no, German. This game is a legendary piece of art. And the developers thought so considerably to include a the very obvious difference between Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. Wow. My mind is blown.
Braziliand and portuguese understand each other quite well, but the words we use in daily life are very different. Some of them may be fun or cause great confusion 😅 The accent differs a lot as well.

Aloy in Spanish (Spain) is perfect; her personality, how she expresses her emotions... Michelle Jenner is an incredible experienced actress and she looks very similar to Aloy in real life.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Polish dub. Most of the dubs are suffering from the exact same issue when the actor is way too close to the mic, and that cuts the voice dynamic range and perception of space in the cut-scene, like all of the characters are talking into your ears directly. For exactly the same reason Spanish (Latin America) was the second best although the quality and clarity wasn't the best. Japanese is closest third IMHO. And of course I'm not taking in consideration the original English dub.
@@amosamwig8394 geographically sure and locations even but in terms of culturally and visually with the people it’s definitely draws more from the Slavic/Germanic. I mean Sobeck is even a Slavic surname of origin too, plus Guerrilla is even a Dutch company too. Most the faces were Dutch actresses and actors and such but America doesn’t have a deep enough culture and social structure to formulate a primitive society from, they have to draw inspirations somewhere.
I am watching this because I am so disappointed by the German localization... we are used to a lot better than this! So I'm probably going with English, since the movements were animated to this... but besides that, you really see the experience of Japanese studios! Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese were also absolutely convincing! All the others had some timing issues, mostly at Aloy saying "Not until now, I didn't", so my theory is, that they slighty changed some trailer animation timings in the final product, while all the faulty localizations were done before these changes.
Why have two types of Spanish? They don't have American English and UK English or Australia English, right? Aren't Spain Spanish and Latin America Spanish functionally the same?
In my opinion; English: 10/10 yeah Arabic: 2/10 (I don't like how Arabic sounds.) The american version only has aviable english, spanish (LATAM), french and portugese (Brazil). The european version has aviable english, spanish, french, italian, german, portugese, arabic, polish and russian. The asian/japanese version has aviable english and japanese.

Russian and Polish are my fav
It fits the location honestly. The people seem to be more Slavic/Eastern European.

@@amosamwig8394 geographically sure and locations even but in terms of culturally and visually with the people it’s definitely draws more from the Slavic/Germanic. I mean Sobeck is even a Slavic surname of origin too, plus Guerrilla is even a Dutch company too. Most the faces were Dutch actresses and actors and such but America doesn’t have a deep enough culture and social structure to formulate a primitive society from, they have to draw inspirations somewhere.
PT BR, PT PT and Italian are the best :3 and English of course.

I am watching this because I am so disappointed by the German localization... we are used to a lot better than this!
So I'm probably going with English, since the movements were animated to this... but besides that, you really see the experience of Japanese studios! Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese were also absolutely convincing! All the others had some timing issues, mostly at Aloy saying "Not until now, I didn't", so my theory is, that they slighty changed some trailer animation timings in the final product, while all the faulty localizations were done before these changes.
Why have two types of Spanish? They don't have American English and UK English or Australia English, right? Aren't Spain Spanish and Latin America Spanish functionally the same?

Eh. it doesn't really match the theme here. IMO it makes the game feel weird, I'd rather choose Japanese voices for Japanese games. (or for games that I'm just straight up bored with)
Niko Leven the location is North America so it makes sense for English but Eastern European fits the theme better.

The american version only has aviable english, spanish (LATAM), french and portugese (Brazil).
