I have a jipsy. This horses feathers are so clean and so long because he hardly ever sees a pasture. Most competition horses spend the better part of their lives in a stall and an indoor ring for practicing. Their fur is also kept shaved which makes the horse very uncomfortable in the winter in northern states. Personally, I feel that any and all horse competing should be band.
Beautiful. I used to do dressage on a shire, everyone thought I was mad (it was the 80’s) but he was amazing. Always do what you love, I would give anything to be able ride now; lovely memories.

Why on earth woukd anyone say anything hurtful or negative, must simply be jealousy, plenty of talk from people that do plenty of nothing criticising those that do and do it well!!
Since when could you do rising trot at elementary? What country is this in ?.....well wow, I just googled and it seems the rules changed in December 2005. Last time I did a dressage test was 1999 haha 😄
@@amyshomesteadanimals braided. The mane is still there but they have tied it up to help show off the horses neckline and shape. Also it will help stop the riders hands and the reins getting caught up in it
Beautiful and stunning horse I own a cob myself and I never thought they could trott like this! But I don't think the horse is completely happy about the rein leadership, because his mouth is constantly open
Beautiful horse and the two seem to have a great rapport, but I had to stop watching, because to me, the horse’s neck is in such an unnatural position which looks so uncomfortable. I see that in the way it’s holding it’s head. Sorry I did not know the sex. You’re can delete my comment if you want, but that is what I see. We need to start riding with the horse’s needs in mind as well as how it looks to the judges. Perhaps it will be a catalyst for positive change.
If you knew this horse, you'd know how much he is enjoying this test - Tim is happy, not uncomfortable I can assure you x I think it's the hogged main that you may not be used to seeing
@@michaeldalton6802 I’m aware we consider this way of riding to be acceptable and it’s obvious the horse and rider are very much in resonance, but please show me a a horse at a trot who, with no bit, no reins, holds it’s head like this. In other words as the horse would naturally. I’m just raising this question; is what we think as reasonable truly comfortable for the horse? I wouldn’t want a piece of metal attached to reins pulling my head in an uncomfortable position, while asking me to trot (jog) would you? If my observations are “stupid and uneducated “, then educate me.

This horse is part of the stallion species it’s an Irish cob and stallions tend to do well in dressage😌

My little cob used to be the national dressage to music champion, it really makes me happy to see other cobs out there at such a high level!

What a lovely mover! I shod horses for nearly 40 years; it is a delight to watch this team. This horse is comfortable, enjoying his job. Nice!

@@janetrae71 by riding a horse in an outline it helps strengthen core muscles and helps the horse carry himself and his rider easily and better.
