- About Gidderskins.
"Gidderskins are a new Morris side from Herefordshire dancing mainly in the local style. The Ludlow day of dance was one of their first public performances."
"Gidderskins" - from the old Herefordshire dialect to jump around and play about - strong, quality and friendly Border Morris in its home territory.
The Morris Federation Day of Dance 2023 and the Morris Federation's AGM on Saturday 30 September. Some Morris sides were dancing in Bishop's Castle and some in Ludlow.
Loved the energy! ❤
As a relative of Brigham Young all I can is that you have danced us proud…!!..
Love the tune 😊.
😊 such a pleasure to watch this ! They seem to have a lot of fun !
Excellent 😊
I know this dance as Worcestershire Monkey, by Wicket Brood Border Morris.
The tune is "Weasel's Revenge", a superb tune by Jan Hurst (1998). I used to play it a lot at sessions. As for the turquoise waistcoat, you should see some of mine! Nice energetic enthusiastic dancing, too. Delightful.
Thanks for the info!
Wondrous! That turquoise waistcoat is a bit distracting though..
Hi Sue, thank you for your comment, in their defense they are a really new side gathering new members and I should think that given time if the people enjoy the dancing they will have colours to match.
Have a day off mate! The music, the spirit, the dance is the thing!
Brilliant fun. The guys need to be a bit more creative with their outfits.
