I just realized that 4:57-5:27 is the main melody of Handmade Cities (the song) thrown in right at the end in a different key along with the Cascade melody tacked on to the end of the phrase to bring the album full circle. Fucking brilliant.
this is also played in "Here We Are, Again" at the very end. Also, in "Selenium Forest", "The End of Everything" (the song) and "Paper Moon" ,he does this again, but with a different melody. Truly a genius
From 03:58 on begins one of the most perfect compositional orchestrations I've ever had the pleasure to experience. You think that theme play couldn't get any better and then, just shortly thereafter at 04:13 that chunk-chunk-chunk bliss begins ... My frickin' skin gooses every single time I hear it.
I’ve heard this today for the first time. I emphatically agree. First four minutes are incredible, you don’t even need it to get any better and you can’t even conceive of how it could be…then your serotonin system is hit with a nuclear bomb and you’re launched into outer space and brought face to face with the one transcendental unifying spiritual entity who dispels all fear and doubt from your soul in an instant and breathes a new life of bravery and love into you
Saw Plini live last week and they played this. Fucking ✨MAGICAL✨ It was so surreal listening to this song and many others online for years and finally seeing the boys play it live was a completely amazing experience and I definitely recommend anyone who can see Plini live, fucking do it.
This is like the best thing I've ever heard in my life. And I've listened to so much music. I was looking forward to this album but this track just exceeded my expectations, which is something that rarely happens these days with anything. I just can't believe it. It's absolutely perfect. I really, really feel this. Thank you so much. I am a new man. Thanks Plini.
Heard this for the first time today. I’m a drummer and I’ve spent my life listening to everything from Bach to Brahms to Sonny Rollins to James Brown to Holdsworth to Tool to Meshuggah to Animals as Leaders…and this is just spellbinding. It kept getting better and better, I didn’t think it could possibly get any better…then when the last two minutes hit a cold shiver was induced and my jaw dropped and I just gazed up at the sky in awe and amazement
That INSANE HEAD-BANGING feel from 4:43 till the end of eternity... Why did the song have to end??? Such deep melody and them feels... PLINI, yer' a GOD!!
It's been 8 years already... I never told this to anybody, but this album cover captures something i cannot express. Something about going through a illustrated book as a 7 yo kid, late at night with only lamp light. It's hard to describe, because it's there, at the bootom of my mind.
Plini’s music touches the deepest part of my soul. And when the inevitable time comes this is the last thing I want to hear as I take my last breath upon this beautiful good earth.
Just think for a moment. Out of all the planets in the universe, all the time periods, somehow, we’ve all ended up in this one, able to experience this music fresh and brand new
This is absolute perfection. The precision required to do this.... The godlike composition it took to write it... I think this is the most impressive musicianship I've ever heard. The sounds blend and run with each other in harmonies I've never thought about before.
I don't know what it is, but Plini is the master of building a theme around a melody in the beginning of the album and just evolving it throughout the album until it comes to a head towards the end in some extremely powerful and moving moments such as at 4:56 Nobody does it better, and I think it makes for exceptional album writing that makes all of the songs in an album make sense as a collection rather than some artist that try to write a bunch of cool songs and then throw them on an album without any real reasoning or sense as to why those songs would go together.
Randall Jewell Djent is an onomatopoeic word; it's a certain sound you get in progressive metal and modern metal by dialing in a particular kind of distorted tone that is tight and not too saturated with ringing gain like classic metal guitar tones or classic rock tones; often played on guitars with extra strings (7, 8, 9), which are tuned down to get really low notes to sound thick and intense.
I often get memories when I listen to music (nothing new) and the memories bound to this song are the days when you released the album and how this track moved me. Cascade has been the only track which reminds me listening to the song itself for the first times. You're a magician Plini ♥
This is my favorite thing of the album. Heck man, the whole album is phenomenal :D Plini, Troy, Simon, Ermin and Alex thank you guys so much for the amazing music and art. Keep up the good work :)
Every now and then I come here to listen to this master piece, every time it makes even more sense, it's just incredible, the arrangement behind the solo parts is sometimes even better than the solo itself, the mix played a huge role in giving this piece the space it deserves, I just love every aspect of it!!
I haven't been able to stop listening to this album since I first heard it over a month ago. From the variety of styles represented, to the fullness and diversity of texturing and layering, to the cycling polyrhythms and their integration into varying time signatures, to the memorable and emotive melodies, to the clever use of motifs that help build the album into an experience, I can't remember a time in recent past when a single album has fulfilled so many of my listening needs. Thank you, Plini. This is truly a masterpiece.
This track is fucking incredible; hell, who am I kidding? This entire album kicks total ass. Plini, you have yet to put out a song that doesn't shake the foundations of my music loving mind. Keep doing what you do, man. You do it too fucking well.
Listening to this for the millionth time and the anticipation for what is to follow building up never fails to make me an excited little child jumping up and down

Amazing music. Cant help but give that drummer credit too. Man he kills it too
Troy Wright is amazing haha
This song helped me beat dark souls 3
Base game or DLC's also? Lol
Imagine playing this while crossing the bridge to Irithyll
Now beat Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with Pan from Impulse Voices.
I played sekiro with prog metal, this, math rock and other Plini songs. Helped a lot.
