- It’s been a year since I first got my MioMat plant based milk maker so let’s take a look and see how it’s holding up. Am I still using the device or is it collecting dust on my kitchen counter?

Thank you for reviewing a product that has had regular use after a year.
No problem. Still using it almost every weekend.
Thanks for your update. I decided on the MioMat after watching a few videos, and am waiting for it to arrive. I am one of those people who accumulate appliances, so it's helpful to get your opinion and tips.
Glad I could help. I myself have a few appliances sitting in cabinets that will probably never be used again.
Hi. Thanks for the review, it was really helpful. I saw that you didn't use the measuring cup that comes with the miomat. Can you tell me what the weight of soaked beans you use to make your milk please. I have just ordered my machine and I am really keen to try it out. Thanks Souzan
I'm so glad you found the review helpful. I've never weighed the soaked beans, but I take about 75g of dry soy beans and soak them in water overnight - usually between 8 to 12 hours. Then I drain the beans, add them to the MioMat, fill to the 1300 mL line, install the grinder ring, place the lid on, select the "soy milk" program and let it run to completion. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
I wonder if a few denture tablets would clean it. I use them in my stainless steel water bottles and they work well.
They would probably work.
I don't think I'd use a plastic strainer. Too many microplastics, especially since the liquid is hot.
Fortunately, you can still use the metal strainer that comes with it.
The sponge you are using is dirty
You are certainly right. I should switch out my sponges more often, especially when I'm shooting a video.
This video was not a sponge tutorial as far as I could tell. 😂
