Bullets dont stop until they hit something tough enough to stop em. And a human is not always one of those things. Nor is a wall. or a chair. or a car. or anything for that matter.
I'm not saying you're wrong, i'm just saying that in nearly every situation, semi-autio is the way to go. Exceptions are LMGs and pistol caliber firearms. But no one is clearing rooms with an LMG.

After many years of searching.The music, from 00:05 to 00:28, I found it is called: Baai - Emmanuel Jal. Abdel Gadir Salim. I found it in the 2006 film Blood Diamonds (the film lasts about two and a half hours, and the music is at 01:07:35, so who cares can check) at that moment a similar scene of two young rebels on a motorcycle listening to the radio appears, so is my guess that the author got the inspiration for this scene from there.
