To me, this track is magical: It's the culmination of hours of effort, it's the beginning of my passion for games, the first taste of victory, it's my childhood... I can truly say this song makes my day better when I listen to it.

This is one of most emotional games i ever played. It doesn't have a plot or complex gameplay. But it has amazing atmosphere of travelling across Transsylvania. The game mostly is meditative.
Some consoles, especially back then, don't get utilized to their potential until late in their life cycle. Konami did something this epic in the system's first year in North America.
migueeeelet I think we're going in different directions with this. I was talking about how well utilized the SNES capabilities, especially its mode 7 graphics, early in the console's life. Many of the SNES's features were showcased earlier in the console's life than most other consoles up to that time in my opinion, and I would say that it was another 2 years, with the release of Star Fox, that we got a much better look at what it could do.

Makes me imagine that all the fighting and pursuing of achievements we do in life is not in vain, that in the end, as long as we don't surrender as we battle for our beliefs and goals to the very end...we will find closure one way or another.
Castlevania is a series that has always delivered the goods when it comes to the soundtrack... But never has there been a more ambient, and peaceful theme than in Super Castlevania IV. The ending theme to this game lets the player reflect on the journey of getting up to Dracula, and knowing that it was all worth it in the end as we watched that castle come crumbling down. It evokes a sense that peace and harmony has been restored for at least another 100 years.

Man, the best games are the older ones, I don't care what people say. The feeling this tune leaves you with after beating Dracula and watching his castle crumble in the distance is truly amazing. It makes you look back at the incredible journey this game takes you on, and you think to yourself "Yeah..."
I'm convinced that the creators of Castlevania IV did everything in their power to make this an adventure that players would remember and cherish for the rest of their lives. I could give many examples: from the atmosphere to the music in this game, but if you played it, you'll know exactly what I mean.
My God brings back memories... Being a kid and my dad told me his friend at work is into games so he brought this home one day bc his friend let him borrow it and said here let your son play this. Such a great game.
As a Castlevania fan raised on the modern era of games I was very pleased with going back to see the series in its purest form with the NES games and especially IV. The last three stages gave me a tough challenge as I expect from the series but I manage to conquer death, slogra and gaiben in one go. When I finally landed that last hit on Dracula, I felt a sense of peace and satisfaction. I will always cherish the new memories I made with these old games now.....and forever..
Definitely gives a sense of peace returning to a distraught land. :D Also comes into my mind when a grueling college semester is over. The final projects done, the next semester (or adventure, if you will. ;) ) has been determined, and it's just time to relax. :)

Aaron Nicewonger Well I guess it's a matter of taste. Personally this gen, I found the Dark Souls series to be more reminiscent of oldschool CV, with its methodical and strategy heavy combat, and gloomy gothic exploration.
They got gloomy and gothic yes. But I felt it was TOO gloomy and gothic. Needed an injection of fanciful and beautiful as well. The old games did a great job combining beauty with gloom. And I feel your thoughts on combat are slightly misconstrued. CV has never relied on strategy heavy combat. They relied heavily on strategy-heavy enemy placement and movement. Lots of level/area memorizing. The combat itself was rather simple. Even later metroidvania games. Smack + dodge + repeat. I will admit that LoS failed at recapturing the platforming qualities of classic vania. But dark souls/demons souls doesn't do this either. Though LoS does come close with it's traversal aspects. Just not close enough. Though the ONLY 3D CV games to get platforming right were CV64 and LoD. Though LoI came close. Especially with the whip swinging similar to SCV4.
I finish my Halloween every year with this song. Feels like the right thing to do; especially because Halloween is my favourite time of year to see friends and have fun.
I'll admit, I was born when the SNES was in its final years, so I never got to experience it in its heyday, but many of its games I still hold cherished memories as a kid at my grandmother's. As for this one, I never got the chance to truly play it until I got the SNES Classic Edition in 2017, and after playing it, as my first ever Castlevania game, I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere, the gameplay, the music, the environments, I absolutely adored it. Hell, I made it a Halloween tradition to play this game at least once every October. I've done it for a couple years now and I always enjoy doing it. Hell I turn the borders off and have the CRT filter on as well as turn the lights off which honestly always makes me feel like a kid when I do it. I'll always love this game, and I'll be sure to keep my tradition strong for years to come.
If the 1999 Demon castle war game finally makes it out, This will 100% be the ending theme as the threat of Dracula is finally over after its whip power from julius's final swing summoned Every Official Belmont who wilded the whip, and they all Whipped Dracula so hard that a Shockwave louder than Krakatoa that sounds like a angelic violin Choir singing, Destroying Dracula Instantly.
Best feeling ever after you beat this game...games these days are extremly short and have a lot of shortcuts if you are not that good player thx to games like this one the 80/90 gamers are the best of the best!

The thing about Castlevania IVs ost as a whole is that it really isn't as boppin as the first 3, but it's so damn atmospheric! Like, I couldn't really hum any of the songs aside from Simon's Theme, but holy moly do you really feel that the scope of this game, the journey, is so much bigger than the others. 3 will always be my favourite, but it won't give you chills like 4
I have to agree with how amazingly atmospheric the OST is, and that's why it's my favorite non-Metroidvania Castlevania OST. Literally only one song on the entire soundtrack that I don't care for. The Forest of Monsters theme in particular gives off such an incredible sense of adventure. Fits so perfectly with the stage that starts you out in a wooded graveyard, takes you through a bog, up a mountain and down a beautiful rushing stream.

And the only Metroidvania I've played is Aria of Sorrow, but I'm not a huge fan of the games being set exclusively in the castle; I love the idea of going to a graveyard, a waterfall, a bog, it feels more adventurous. I should probably give the Metroidvania games another chance, though, they get a lot of praise
The only track I don't really like from Castlevania IV is the Cellar/Dungeon stage music, which just so happens to also be my least favorite stage. Maybe you should give Portrait of Ruin a shot in that case. In that game you're still playing in the castle but you also enter paintings that take you to different locations and settings outside of Castlevania.
I still have not completed this game, when I get the money I am going to purchase this from the VC store because using the classic controller gives me that SNES feel and so much more comfortable and easyer to play with than with a PS2 controller on my PC.

Castlevania 3 is my favorite of the old school Castlevania games, but this is my favorite ending theme from any of the old school games in the series. It almost makes me cry when I listen to it because it makes me think of the time in my life when I first bought and played the game. When the game came out in the U.S. I was in eighth grade, and I bought the game on March 13, 1992, shortly after my birthday. The next day I beat the game and heard this song for the first time. Out of all my middle school years eighth grade was probably my favorite, so yeah, I get a little choked up when I hear this and think back to those days. Thank goodness for the Internet and social media, as it has made it so much easier to get back in touch with my classmates from back then.

It's funny. I didn't beat this game until long after I had watched Vampire Hunter D and I remember hearing this and immediately thinking of the ending of VHD. Even the ending of SCIV has that dramatic distant shot with the sun in the background and the castle falling to the ground/in to the ground.

The thing about Castlevania IVs ost as a whole is that it really isn't as boppin as the first 3, but it's so damn atmospheric! Like, I couldn't really hum any of the songs aside from Simon's Theme, but holy moly do you really feel that the scope of this game, the journey, is so much bigger than the others. 3 will always be my favourite, but it won't give you chills like 4
I have to agree with how amazingly atmospheric the OST is, and that's why it's my favorite non-Metroidvania Castlevania OST. Literally only one song on the entire soundtrack that I don't care for. The Forest of Monsters theme in particular gives off such an incredible sense of adventure. Fits so perfectly with the stage that starts you out in a wooded graveyard, takes you through a bog, up a mountain and down a beautiful rushing stream.

And the only Metroidvania I've played is Aria of Sorrow, but I'm not a huge fan of the games being set exclusively in the castle; I love the idea of going to a graveyard, a waterfall, a bog, it feels more adventurous. I should probably give the Metroidvania games another chance, though, they get a lot of praise
The only track I don't really like from Castlevania IV is the Cellar/Dungeon stage music, which just so happens to also be my least favorite stage.
Maybe you should give Portrait of Ruin a shot in that case. In that game you're still playing in the castle but you also enter paintings that take you to different locations and settings outside of Castlevania.

I still have not completed this game, when I get the money I am going to purchase this from the VC store because using the classic controller gives me that SNES feel and so much more comfortable and easyer to play with than with a PS2 controller on my PC.

Castlevania 3 is my favorite of the old school Castlevania games, but this is my favorite ending theme from any of the old school games in the series. It almost makes me cry when I listen to it because it makes me think of the time in my life when I first bought and played the game. When the game came out in the U.S. I was in eighth grade, and I bought the game on March 13, 1992, shortly after my birthday. The next day I beat the game and heard this song for the first time. Out of all my middle school years eighth grade was probably my favorite, so yeah, I get a little choked up when I hear this and think back to those days. Thank goodness for the Internet and social media, as it has made it so much easier to get back in touch with my classmates from back then.

It's funny. I didn't beat this game until long after I had watched Vampire Hunter D and I remember hearing this and immediately thinking of the ending of VHD. Even the ending of SCIV has that dramatic distant shot with the sun in the background and the castle falling to the ground/in to the ground.
