Whatever you say, Professor Frazier 🥵
The goat himself! Cimoooooooooooo 🙏🏾🫶🏾🖤
@@Cimoooooooo why konami don't recognize all retro format of each year and not just Edison early 2010 its kinda horrible to call time wizard something that doesn't go through actually different times or years .
@@edgarlara1873 Most places( regionals and above ) will allow you to play whichever format you want as long as you get enough people playing in it. Goat, Edison, Tengu and TOSS are the most popular time wizard
Almost 40 minutes of raw resources and information. Watched every second, this is amazing for an Edison newcomer
Thank you so much 🙏🏾🖤
Not me on company time learning how to become a better duelist 😈
If this ain’t the realist shit ever
Twin 🔥
Never related more to a TH-cam comment
Bro same. Hotels are so easy
Respect
Bro i'm at work and when you said "if you're looking for good gb content i recommend you check yourself into a mental institution" i lost it in a room full of all my other coworkers 😭😭😂😂
I love when you guys tell me that lol
Literally me while patrolling for work😂
Getting into Edison for the first time, this video and your other content are very informative. Thank you very much for sharing the secret dipping sauces
You’re welcome 🙏🏾🖤
Great video, not just for people trying to improve at Edison but also for anyone trying to improve at Yu-Gi-Oh! in general!
Thank you
Also I had no clue you could view replays on format library. That’s awesome!! 🎉
Lmao the more you know
I've been making written side deck guides in my Notes apps for years. I would also say it comes with fializing your deck list and memorizing it so that siding between games is quick and easy. Writting down your deck list in your Notes app helps you menorize it too.
Sorry babe gotta become a champion date night is cancelled
great video. Congratz for reaching 4k Subs! I really enjoy your content.
(and i hope you'll update more tengu stuff in the future!)
Thanks! Will do!
Amazing video, Frazier! Thank you for sharing these tips.
I'd really like to see more videos of you breaking down replays of your games, like you did some time ago for your tournament run with Hero Frogs. Discussing why you played your hand like that, what went through your mind at that moment, why did you sequence the plays in that way, and what cards were you considering your opponent had and you played around would be awesome. I think understanding how a pro's thought process goes could really help us get into that mindsight and start to actively ask those questions ourselves.
Obviously, doing the same for when you're siding would be the cherry on top. But I understand siding is a skill we need to develop ourselves and a great Dark Magician does not reveal all their tricks lol. Still, thank you for your insights and all you do for the community! 😄
Thank you so much, I appreciate you saying that, and I might do something similar again in the future.
Thanks a lot, really appreciate the great work!
Excellent advice. As someone who exclusively plays tier 1.5 decks, *knowing* the tier 1 decks inside and out is what's most important - after mastering your own, of course.
Loved the HxH scene at the end!
Just came back to Edison after 10 year absence. This was soooooo helpful! Shoutout to you. Wondering if there’s any guides/videos on siding patterns against certain decks?
I have a sidedecking 101 video on my channel, but for specific decks and stuff you will have to do some research and actually test things out. Sidedecking changes a lot over time, despite the format being "locked".
Developing the in game check list is the skill I’m working on currently. I notice during our shadow games you do that a lot and it helps you not lose.
I always do my side plans on the deck building screen itself, never thought it'd be easier to just do it in solo mode 😆
But good video. I think another interesting topic (which could be its own video) is playing IRL vs playing in a tournament online and how to prepare for both
Hey Frazier, first of all thanks for all of this useful information!! It is so much appreciated :D
I was wondering if you could make a video about siding in and siding out. Principally about the siding out. I find it so difficult to do :O
I have a video on my channel called sidedecking 101 or something like that -- I think it should be useful for what you're looking for.
An addition to 6 (learning decklists) also can lean into 1 (utilize the websites). FormatLibrary not only has the deck search feature you showed, but if you are on the format's page (edison in this case), you can go to the deck gallery and open the type of deck. (So, FL->Formats->Edison->Deck Gallery/Popular Decks) From there, you can look at deck lists for the most common ratios. Now, the downside is that this factors all decks; tops, scrub outs, historic jank, etc. But let's go through this point with Vayu Turbo. At the time of making this comment, 64% of players play necro gardna. 87% of hamster players play it at 1 or 2 (pretty split on 1 vs 2). 55% split on the 1-of charge too.
That deck ratio tool can help understand some deck building on your own, or what you are expecting to play against. Though there is still a lot of merit to seeing the "final product" so to speak of the topping decks.
Another really good video. Thanks!
the sutble GB shade LOL immediately subbed
Thank you 🙏🏾🖤 (I only kid when I hate on GBs, I want people to play whatever makes them happy)
Really great and informative video. Thanks brother 🙏❤️
You’re very welcome
Is there any Website which shows all european edison events ?
maybe i missed it but the shown websites seem to only cover NA events
I think grinding ladder is underrated. Ladder gives you a good mix of meta and off meta so you learn how to play against everything. Which is very helpful in tournament.
Also cool to see my name cameo in the video at the #30 spot on the ladder 😎.
If one needs to improve mental fortitude ladder is the ultimate challenge :)
As someone who sucks at Yugioh, this is just what I need!
I unfortunately think playing on DB / any other sim is really boring so I kinda only want to play irl/remotes. Is there a discord server where people play edison remotes? I love the format and would love to practice more to get better at it. Great video btw, love the content 😊
Yoo I’m in this video as the 90th of the Edison format ladder on DB Letssgoskyyy
Could you link the discords here I couldn't find all of them.
11:46 😂😂😂 I laughed so hard at that. Why do you say that Frazier?
😂
One Big question about Priority, I looked in many places and couldn't find it.
The Turn Player does NOT have "Ignition Effect Priority" when the Summon starts a chain.
Example 3: Player A Normal Summons "Armageddon Knight". In the Summon response timing, Player A can activate "Armageddon Knight's" Trigger Effect OR pass priority to Player B; who may respond with "Torrential Tribute". Player A does NOT have priority to activate any other card/effect as Chain Link 1 (including Ignition Effects).
After reading this ruling above, why is Swap frog seen activating his eff to return to the hand? Prio cannot be used if the card has an eff trigger on the summon. If you don't activate it in the summon, you wouldn't be able to activate any ignition as a prio. I am wrong ?
Where did you get that from?
@@imnerdpodcast There is this example on any website of the format, including on the website that showed it in video, just above where it talks about monsters with 0atk
EDISON FORMAT RULE #6 - Ignition Effect Priority
I found posts from old judges who said that the swap could return using the prio, but it doesn't make sense to take this ruling literally that says that if the summon generates a chain, the prio cannot be used. I see pro players in the dueling book using this, and I haven't seen any judges notice what I've noticed since I returned to the format. I was going to text you to tell you about this, but I always forget. As you have been playing with the deck for a long time, the fact that you always use this prio in the summon means that no judge has ever said that it couldn't, but from my understanding and what it says in the prio ruling, it can't.
I think you’re wrong. I don’t think that a summon starts a chain if you opt to not use the effect.
@@imnerdpodcast this is the point! The prio ruling example used exactly one optional eff (armageddon knight), and says that if you choose not to activate the eff, you cannot use the prio.
Example 1: Player A successfully Normal Summons "Elemental Hero Stratos" whose Trigger Effect is optional. Player A does NOT have priority to activate any card / effect other than choose whether or not to activate Stratos' Trigger Effect and pass priority to Player B who can respond to the Summon with Torrential Tribute
Another exemple in the same website
I know that you disagree with me when I said I'm not a good player. But you said one thing during your streams that made a lot of sense, which is that I've never had the opportunity to improve further. Namely, I don't play in enough tournaments with good players because I've always lacked the funds to travel, afford the best decks, and because I work on weekends. But given so many tournaments are online now, this might be the best way for me to get better. I agree that I need to play in more tournaments with good players in them.
I will also be at rbet maryland. So maybe ill see you there.
Edit: also, I actually also live in PA, but in northeastern part. But i go to an edison local every friday at a card shop in pottstown which isnt far from philly. So idk if youre interested, but ive been trying to grow the regular community showing for the card shop. Its called On The Draw. Id love to play against someone like you to prepare for maryland.
I don’t really go to any locals currently but thanks for letting me know, and good luck in Maryland!
@@imnerdpodcast Thanks, you too. Kinda bummed you're not interested but I understand tho.
im ready to learn but ima still miss my goat decks and bls the chad
Why not play both 🤷🏾♂️
@imnerdpodcast my friends they say OH goat is to slow I'm nor going to play this rn I'm in my edison era rn . But today I learned about ambeo something like that it's a water 1 star monster that does burn damage to ur opponent when it goes to there side of the field for a whooping 2k now I just wanna great a deck revolving that card or maybe tech it in goat controlle. I forever will say goat format is the chess vers. of yugioh. And edison is checkers.
Couple tips I would say that might be obvious but I see people do that make them lose.
1. Not winning when you can. You should almost always win the game when the first time strikes otherwise you better play beyond perfect.
2. Don't play brain control unless you absolutely have to get back into the game or have the game. Definitely the two biggest things I see newer Edison players do that cause Winnable games thrown.
Thanks for the content! Also you mentioned something about doing gb videos plz dont put the spotlight on that deck lol, we all need it consigned to oblivion
Do you offer coaching for edison?
I do
But it’s expensive
would be helpful to add the links to the websites in the description or comments
Good idea
Yugitubers and putting links other than their sponsors or other socials in the description IMPOSSIBLE.
Are you allowed to look at side decking notes at irl tourneys or do you have to just memorize stuff?
No, you need to memorize it. If you never make a guide you’ll be freestyling in the moment though, which is bad.
Btw blackwings can basically just play two offering for free
As a glad player i am hurt 😢
it's all jokes my friend 😂💕
@@imnerdpodcast nope you refused to sign my helmet 🪖 😂
gb main since when teledad was actually live. i'll tank the hate for my fellow gb enjoyers.
😂
Rewatching because I’ve been playing like trash recently 😢
nothing like a little refresher course
@@imnerdpodcast I think my biggest struggles are that I’m not big into db, but I really need more practice with frogs. I think some times I take irl losses and I can’t pinpoint exactly what I did wrong to lose because I don’t know all of the best lines with the deck for each situation
GB players in shambles after that diss 😂
All in good fun 😂
Why would peoople play a set format and not a current one or trying to get better at something from the past that players try to modernize and make rules 🚷 that were not even though back in 2010 at all .
the same reason people play old video games, or play the same sport over and over -- because it's fun to them.
@ how its fun something retro?
You think its safe to invest in retro in Edison on a real cardboard cards like just to play and gave fun 🎢. Or a cheap reprints of the reprint of the reprint will keep you on the game 🎯. Like will Edison hardcore player will ho for original max rare cards from the origin set or TP, CP, TP, PT
Or just reprints that horrible errated.
Cardboard is not a good investment. I wanna play the game, not make money
Hate the GB slander.
It’s a joke! 😂😂😂
Waboku too strong
I just got into this format from goat. Your channel held a lot. May I know your discord ?
