808hawaii basically when you’re playing as orichi, if you perfectly time a dodge in the direction of where an attack is coming from, you’ll pretty much parry it and have an opportunity to do a badass looking light or heavy attack. it’s a pain in the ass to get the timing right and it’s very risky to do as you must dodge at the very last second for it to count as a deflect, and if you mess it up they’ll just hit you with the attack, but if you get good at it it’s almost uncounterable

Sergio Gonzalez I think people that says there’s honor in this game are pretty terrible, Ubisoft put cliffs as a way to kill not as decoration, those who don’t use them suit your selfs, and I support those who take advantage of cliffs and revives
idk what you call light spamming, but that moment was anything BUT light spamming. He straight up deflected that highlander's chain, cancelling his heavy every time to make room for the next deflect. How often do you see an Orochi pull that off? Plus, all of Orochi's chains contain light attacks. It's the fact that he was mixing in the rest of his moveset that separates him from light spammers. Light spam Orochis do NOTHING but spam lights. I don't think he spammed nearly half as bad as the ones I've come across. If an Orochi wins a fight, the first instinct of most players is to say "oh he's just a light spammer. He doesn't have any real skill." I respect the time he put into improving his playstyle, because I think he proved to be a player who decided NOT to give in to the cheap, easy tactics that lure the majority of Orochi players.

I would just feint and then get killed by gb spam because gb interrupts every single animation in the game for me. My light attacks (even with assassins) are consistently countered by gb. My gb even gets countered by a gb, not a cgb but a full blown gb. This doesnt seem to happen to anyone else. I can parry lights with more consistency than countering gb (which i have literally never once done successfully even when spamming the button). I have been on the forums and tried everything that is alleged to work, and it _does_ work against bots _in duels_ but anytime i'm connected with other players, gb will literally interrupt all of my animations. Bashes, heavies, lights, in the middle of a chain after an attack lands (when i'm the offensive)...hell i bet someone could save me after falling off a cliff with a fucking gb.
So he can't call himself grandmaster in a move he mastered that almost no one in this community can pull off, I just think y'all are a bit mad. But yeah he's edgy.
Hey Nova King, i've been following you since you got your first thousand milestone, i just wanna say you're my biggest influence to be main Orochi, i got my triple deflect like you last night (it's a shame tho that orochi got nerved by removed the hurricane blast), thank you for inspiring me to sharpen my reflects, this game is so hard to learn but i finally manage to master the basics, i hope get to duel you sometimes, just to show you how much i learnt from you, thank you Nova, you always be my For Honor KING (pun intended)
Soft feinting from back dodge heavy into a zone to go from a top attack to side... Clever. I know about deflections, I just have trouble pulling off the reactions. In general I'm noticing that orochi seems capable of soft feinting a lot more moves than I thought. I also appreciate you're not editing out losses.

I tried that triple deflected in game and I found it was actually really easy to do that when ur enemy is using their chain attack cuz every deflect time is perfect during that three attack , u just need to press “A/D+space”( I am on pc) to cancel ur deflect and It will auto deflect another attack. And btw i didn’t mean that nova’s skill is cheap or easy, ur a god nova.

I never picked up the game due to how toxic the community was (according to a couple vids and a friend who plays it) but then two days ago I tried it at my cousin’s house. I picked Orochi because I just like katanas and samurais. The other samurai with the bigger katana was... too big. I didn’t like that he had such a massive katana. And the other guy that dual wields katanas was way too expensive. Before I picked him up, I played the first chapter on the hard difficulty to get a bit of a feel for the game. Then my first few fights were bad until I learned how to side step or dodge. I combined that with the faster attack (R1) and basically “dominated” every match thereafter. Until someone decided to school me, counterpicked Orochi and did the same thing to me. Even when I won it felt cheap because my tactic didn’t require much skill at all... and every time I’d tell my cousin that, he’d always tell me “nah bro you’re good you’re good!!” I really hoped he was just being biased and was only interested in winning, so I hit the training tab thing. There they showed me about countering which activates that orange thing that I believe is an unblockable. They also showed me the run cancel of Storm Dash (I think that’s the name). The run cancel was simple... but to string all that together seemed impossible to me. I would still fantasize about how awesome it’d be to be able to do those things... to be able to do them better, at a pro level even. So today I decided to look up “orochi gameplay”. This one had the most views and decent amount of likes to dislike ratio so I figured it’d be good. And it was... it’s very inspiring. And very insightful for a noob like me too. I didn’t know you could counter grabs. I also didn’t know Orochi was actually able to block attacks. When I played him at first, I was worried because I’d notice he couldn’t hold his guard up for longer than like 2 seconds unlike the iconic knight (forgot his name). But this taught me that. It also showed me that people can still somehow hit you after you’ve parried them and countered with that orange “unblockable”. It also showed me that people stumble if you grab and throw them when they have no stamina, meaning it’s better than to grab and spam R1. This video showed me a lot of things and inspired me to try and play Orochi on a much different, more complex level than I’d have normally imagined. I don’t really see what he did wrong since people are complaining but... maybe that’s because I have such little skill and knowledge of the game. Regardless, this video was awesome to me and very inspiring :D

I just got this on ps4 a few days ago. I love that you can be a scumbag and jump people, if you get jumped you can defend yourself against multiple opponents, or you can actually show respect and everyone lets everyone fight one on one. Such a fun game dude.
MaximumEffort I just guard break them and do a light and then I be cancerous and spam light attacks and switch the sides and do a heavy and guard break and my stamina runs out
Your deflects are great, thats for sure, but the enemies you play against in this video are just.... The highlander at the start, propably doesnt even know there is an offensive stance for his character :D and in 14 minutes of brawls you got your light parried once and by an accident most likely :D

fakin bič I'm not very high level I'm only rep 5, or something like that, but I thought parrying lights on console was rare even in high tier gameplay and usually only attempted when it's obvious they keep attacking in the same pattern because u have to pre press it because of frames or something.

I just got this on ps4 a few days ago. I love that you can be a scumbag and jump people, if you get jumped you can defend yourself against multiple opponents, or you can actually show respect and everyone lets everyone fight one on one. Such a fun game dude.

Your deflects are great, thats for sure, but the enemies you play against in this video are just.... The highlander at the start, propably doesnt even know there is an offensive stance for his character :D and in 14 minutes of brawls you got your light parried once and by an accident most likely :D

fakin bič I'm not very high level I'm only rep 5, or something like that, but I thought parrying lights on console was rare even in high tier gameplay and usually only attempted when it's obvious they keep attacking in the same pattern because u have to pre press it because of frames or something.
