I to have been here so many times but just couldn't leave a reply, yesterday 6/27/24 I spend the day alone honoring my spouse of 33.5 yrs , first year's remembrance. The hurt and heartbreak I've felt the last year has been worse than any I've ever felt. We were alone then, and I have faced it all alone since. As I drove "our " favorite route yesterday with his ashes by my side I cried and out of nowhere rain fell hard from the sky. "Tears from heaven" I was no longer alone............ Song was added to my "Songs for the Broken hearted" playlist a long time ago
I've tried to make a comment here so many times but find it very difficult. It's a great song but so sad. We lost our youngest daughter to skin cancer at the age of 34. She left a husband and a 4-year-old daughter behind. I don't know if she was in pain for the last few days of her life but she's at peace now.

I was such a lost soul feeling dead, abandoned and I was the only person on this Earth. When I heard this song for the first time...it shattered me. It crumbled me to the floor screaming. For Eric Clapton. It was the most horrible feeling in the world that someone other than myself feeling like me. Your teeter tottering on the line . You cease to have existed. There is NOTHING HERE. AND THE EMPTY SHELL IS CRACKING FAST. I DON'T KNOW HOW THE REST OF THE PARENTS WITH CHILDREN WHO GAINED THEIR HEAVENLY WINGS BEFORE we were prepared for them too. I made the choice that in order for me to remain sane and alive for my now living 3 children and 6 grandchildren almost 2 great grandchildren was to keep conversations about her at medical level and never never ever let it go to the emotional side. Of course living in the real world, I knew better than that. "Tears in heaven" helped me release the emotional. Itty-bitty steps because I knew I had to let it go, in order to live. I had to live in honor of my daughter and for her sister and her 2 future brothers. God blessed us. He gave us one of his angels to hold and love for him until he needed them back. Eric Clapton put in a song the feelings of a parent who had to bury their own child. God bless you Eric Clapton.
