I would expect them both to get louder with some more miles on them. I have a 2 yr old i30N Performance with 20k miles and it now sounds as loud with valves closed on startup as it did when it was new with the valves open. It's changed tone over time and they seem to get lower with more bass growl as the exhaust silencers get some running on them. Pops and bangs are a bit louder too but it's not like some cars where it's artificial and they just have the over run noise no matter what, it's pretty varied on the i30N, sometimes just one pop, sometimes none and other times 3 or 4. I own a Mk8 Fiesta ST 1.5L and they are a bit more of a gimmick as it's always 3 pops on over run with valves open, if you get any at all
Having owned both the i20 and the i30 dct, the i20 pops and bangs way more frequently and has that fart-y sound as well as the pops and bangs. The i30's pops and bangs are less frequent however pops and bangs way louder. Both epic cars, i just prefer the i20's looks.
This is actually brilliant because I really wanted to see a video with both of the sounds comparing side by side and not 2 different vids. 😁 Even if the I30n is more growling I actually kind of prefer the I20n exhaust sound. I think that i30n pop and bangs become tiresome after a while... I actually was going to order the i20n but unfortunately due to the supply shortages my country got axed and at least for the moment we won't be able to buy it... 😕
Me too I’ve got a bit sick of the i30Ns pops and bangs it was all a bit too programmed and im lucky enough to own an i20N I had to wait seven months for mine to turn up but it was so worth it, and I think I’m the only one in Leeds to own one or at least I haven’t seen another one
Me too have i30 ... if you are tired of them (you can just drive in sport /custom mode when just some burbles appear and no shooting) ... However I still love shootinh though :D

Plenty of time to get your radar speed camera out of the car 😉🤣😂 I say this and actually owned the original 2017 i30N performance pack in the UK 😜 Had it for 3 years, loved the exhaust, most of the time, and, yes, I know it can all be turned off in either normal/eco or N Custom. N Custom is where it's at. Normal is virtually pointless. Actually had it in N Custom 99% with the odd lazy flick to normal on a motorway. Really should have just softened up the suspension through N Custom, keeping pretty decent dynamics set up. Bimodal exhaust actually really suits the car, it's its signature noise and probably the biggest selling point for me. Arguably better in 2017 form!! Unfortunately, the chassis in the wet is Pants for the following. Stock pz4's and a change to ps4s's and I still had bunny hopping and wheelspin whenever it was damp, cool, greasy etc........... Dry and warm, great fun plus reliability and non badge snob status! Later models have been tweaked, but even in latest guise, bunny hopping is evident in reviews, even in the dry! Contemplated the i20N for smaller, much lighter, possibly better dynamics re the above etc... I suspect it's the better drive for the fun factor only. However, I favoured and bought the GR4 😍
Fahre seit Juli 2021 den i20n und haben seitdem ein klappern im Auspuff. Die N-Klappe ist etwas lose, hört sich manchmal so an, als wären blechdosen im Auspuff. Haben jetzt bis mitte Januar warten müssen, bis der neue Auspuff da ist. Aktuell wird der Auspuff ausgetauscht und am Freitag bekomme ich ihn wieder. Bin echt mal gespannt, ob sich der Sound sehr ändern wird.
@Right Lane Ja stimmt, völlig vergessen hier zu antworten^^ Das Auto ist viel lauter.. Der Auspuff "knallt" mehr und hat auch weit aus mehr Fehlzündungen. kA. ob der vorher einfach zu leise war, aber jetzt ist es brutal^^
