For me, Warren G had an unmatched vibe and flow to his voice, no one comes close, that man had _"it"_
How? Warren G is a 1 hit wonder. Then he stole his style from Above the Law. 1 of best Hip hop groups. RIP KMG
@@yo3rdtier128 One hit wonder? do you even know what a hit is? sure he didn’t have a song that reach number 2 as regulate on hot100 but he had multiple songs that cracked the hot100. Once a song crack the hot 100 it’s a hit guy.
This dj #9,
do you see#42,
what’s love got to do with it #32
I shot the sheriff #20
I want it all #23
Smokin me out #35
@@yo3rdtier128 You don't appear to understand how music works. Do better.
No journey to the West is complete without DJ Quik. You should review the Safe & Sound album 👊🏾
Rhythm and realism is a banger of an album
His first 5 albums are fonky. Above the law too short rat luv dog pound. Too many
Either Safe + Sound or Rhythmalism his best albums (Imo)
@@mc1977zzzzIn my opinion Rhythmalism was his best. Safe and Sound a close 2nd
Don't forget E 40!!!!
Warren g saved def jam from going under they owe him
Redman
He did, with this album he's reacting to.
Facts, had to play as him in fight for New York a few times, but goin up against him can be a headache 💯💪🏿💪🏿😂
@@adamphillip5305yep him too
X did
Factoid: Warren G (Dr. Dre’s half brother) a solid producer in his own right, wanted to put out his own album but didn’t want to be under the Dr. Dre umbrella went to Def Jam (an east coast label) and brought demos of what he could do and being that west coast hip hop was on fire at that time Def Jam signed him! It turned out to be a smart decision because this album went triple platinum!
He wanted to be under them, but Suge shunned him, and Dre told him he couldn't be on Death Row
Stepbro
@@histguy101exactly 💯
I thought they were half brothers too..... apparently Dr. Dre's mom remarried a man after her first husband (Dr. Dre's father - last name Young) and married a man with the last name Griffin (G, in Warren G) and Dre and Warren met each other when Dre was a teenager.
No blood relation, but they love each other like brothers.....which is all that matters. Dre, literally showed Warren (EVERYTHING) he knows as far as engineering and production goes...facts!
Warren G , Dr Dre and Daz can make beats for days....I wish they could have all worked together on the same label.
Snoop wrote this song and "Do You See" which is another really good track on this album. I think they both had music videos
I'm tellin' you, young King, wait til you hear the Dogg Pound "Dogg Food" and the Ice Cube "Death Certificate" albums. I'd also recommend DJ Quik's "Quik Is The Name" and/or "Safe + Sound" and Compton's Most Wanted's "Straight Checkin' Em" and/or "Music to Driveby"
Yeah, I always suggested that he do Doggystyle and Dogg Food back to back (Murder Was The Case as a bonus)
We played this song so much back in the day, especially when cruising we had to buy multiple copies
Great Reaction !!! From the Album that SAVED the Legendary Def Jam Records in 1994. This whole Album is a Certified Classic !!! I recommend checking the Video out for this song.🔥🔥🔥
Both Russel Simmons & Lyor Cohen have credited that to Redman
@@adamphillip5305Naw bro, in 1994 Def Jam was struggling & this album saved them from going Bankrupt. This has been widely known even back in the mid 90's. Don't know where your getting your info from bro.
@@borngifted5398 late 94 when Dare Iz A Darkside dropped
@@adamphillip5305 Naw bro, Dare iz A Darkside went Gold in 1994, while this album went 3X Platinum in 1994 !!!
@@borngifted5398 Doesnt matter, it was Oct/Nov 94 they nearly went bust
Warren G is smooth cool calm and collected 😊
The glue that keeps the 213 together!
Warren G is a legend for help pioneering the G-Funk sound, introducing HIS STEPBROTHER Dr. Dre to Snoop (Doggy) Dogg who was part of their trio along with Nate Dogg called 213!
Warren G is actually Dr Dres stepbrother. He introduced Snoop to dre. Regulate is a classic album! Would be a great review
Agreed.
I remember bumping it on my Dad’s Peavey guitar amp when he wasn’t home back in 94’ as a 9 year old. Regulate is a classic.
classic song off of a classic album. I still remember the summer this came out.
If you're looking for similar G funk/west coast bangers:
All these are synth/strings/bass and west coast heavy! Ahmad, you wont be disappointed. keep up the education homie
Ice cube- you know how we do it (remix)
Dove Shack-Summertime in the LBC
Dj Quik- So many wayz
Mc Ehit- All for the Money
E40-Million dollar spot
Tha Dogg Pound- Big Pimpin
Knoc-turn'al- If I Could
Snoop Dogg- 21 jump street
Suga Free- I'd rather give you my bitch (Dj quik production)
Dr Dre- The Watcher
2Pac-Check out time
Dj Quik- Change the Game
Snoop Dogg- Who got some gangsta shit
All bangers 🔥💪🏾💪🏾
Lots of great West Coast stuff from this era. For something slightly more cutty, on the laid back tip like this one, Summertime In The LBC by Dove Shack, and also Hittin’ Corners by K-Dee are great. And if you go further north to the Bay Area, whole different vibe if you get into Too $hort, etc. Just Another Day by Too $hort doesn’t get enough love. I’m A Player, and the don’t-play-this-around-your-mom Blowjob Betty are also classic Too $hort songs. Then there’s more underground west coast like Heiroglyphics, Souls Of Mischief, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, etc…..’93 Til Infiniti by Souls Of Mischief is definitely the go-to first listen for that sub-genre.
This whole album is a fuqn banger! Throw 2 15's in a hatchback and turn that shyt up! LETS FUCKING GO!!!🔥
100% agree, the entire album was 🔥
1994 Classic from G’d up Warren Griffin
check out the whole album produced by Warren himself.
Recognize
Do you see
So many ways
And ya don’t stop
Super soul sis✊🏾💯
Warren G's album was one of my favorite albums to drop around thst time. Malik was underrated imo and the 5 foota crew were a dope ass crew of females. Dope project.
I remember owning a copy of this song on cassette but it was a promo, and the song was actually called The sh**. It was on a single cassette. This album and Da Twinz were definitely heavy hitters for G Funk Era
This whole album is dope. Was the first rap CD I bought back in the day.
Taking me back with this one! Damn I miss the 90s! 🔥
Call It What You Want - Above The Law ft. Tupac & Money B
This is the song where Pac nicknamed the sound G-Funk. Since then it was officially named. 💯
Warren G was my first album I ever bought as a cassette. That whole project was dope. But Ras Kass Soul On Ice album was dope too. I would say start with "Marinatin'" by Ras Kass tho'! 💯💯💯
holy shit this album is so good 😩 i still listen to my parents old burned cd in my car lmao
Warren underrated. Check out his first single off poetic justice soundtrack(warren g -indo smoke)
Also- dogg pound & Nate dogg- let’s play house. They flipped a nursery rhyme on this!!! 🔥🔥🔥
If haven't done already then gotta do Above The Law's "Black Superman", absolute west coast classic.
Fire and classic track 💯. Loved the vibe. Domino Ghetto Jam and Sweet Potato Pie are fire Westcoast tracks as well
If you want a classic West Coast album any Ice Cube will do but check out "My Summer Vacation". Great song, and Above the Law's 1st album is a classic.
Your face listening to this. Thats a hip hop face. When you hear a hip hop song with a bad ass beat and some dope lyrics. Thats the face you make. its natural and you cant fake it.
Warren G is brilliant, got such a smooth sound. His work with 213 (Snoop, Nate & Warren) is all so good as well. You should check out 'So Fly' and 'Groupie Luv' by 213!
I grew up on this West Coast rap. Keep doing these West Coast reactions. Can you react to some Bay Area rap like E-40? "Dusted and Disgusted" the dirty version with Tupac or "Player's Ball".
Or Million Dollar Spot…That My Opinion by Mac Mall is still hard
Ayyye!!! 💯💯💯Bay Luv fa sho!!
Str8 CLASSIC! 1 of my favorite albums. You gotta watch Warren G's Drink Champs. On some west shit, u gotta check out
Domino - Ghetto Jam (he had beef wit Nate Dog. Similar style)
Suga free - I'd rather give you my bitch
WC - The Streets
Tha Dogg Pound - Big Pimpin (above the rim soundtrack)
Westside connection - Hoo-Bangin
The DOC - Mind Blowin
Kurupt - We Can freak it
Yooo this was the height of West Coast smooth hip hop vibes when it came out. Warren G is a pioneer
I’m probably the only one that will recommend it but, please check out the Twinz - Conversation album entirely produced by Warren G. Easily the most slept on west coast album.
I still play round and round 😂
Other fire West Coast shit:
Black Superman- Above the Law

This is The Shack off that album is dope, the sweetest sounding song about shooting the place up 😂
MC Eiht - All For The Money, one of the smoothest west coast classics. Also, King Tee - Dippin

Nice one. That's why I suggested doing Doggystyle and Dogg Food back to back. Not necessary but just to carry the W-BALLS theme (also on the Murder Was The Case soundtrack). Also suggest Warren G's 'Do You See' on the same album.
E-40, DJ Quik, Spice 1, Dogpound , Cypress Hill, above the law, 2nd to none .. lookin forward to this!
Missed out on the video. It's dope, the best era in Hip Hop 💯
underrated classic 🔥🔥🔥
I ran the piss outta this whole album! It was like a smoothed out version of the "Chronic" and "Doggystyle"
D.J. Quick - Tonight
He already did that one 👊🏾
Warren G - I Want It All
MC EIHT “We Come Strapped” album (his best album) especially the song “Nothing but the Gangsta” featuring Spice 1 & Redman!
The Lil homies slappin this. Nice
“I Don’t Like To Dream About Gettin Paid” is a track you’d love. It’s by Da Dogg Pound
Love the G funk era. Ain’t never gonna be the same but these new west coast rappers got it too. Listen to Zoe Osama, Teeezy, ComptonAssTG, PacManDaGunMan, etc. Stay blessed young homie.
Mista Grimm “Indo Smoke” is a classic smoker’s anthem. Warren G and Nate Dog are on that joint as well.
Definitely check out 213 album (Warren G, Snoop and Nate Dogg)... crazy album that dropped out of nowhere in the early 2000s and IMO some of their best work in general.
That’s that G-Funk eerraaaa smoked out with a Gangsta twist!
Ayyeeeee! I'm here for the Westcoast marathon! 🏁🏁 I hope you get to all the classics - DJ Quik, Digital Underground, E-40, more Warren G... has he reacted to "Summer Time in the LBC" by Dove Shack yet?
I'm sure he will def. dig "Summertime...." I will co-sign that!!
Look up the Twinz some of their songs are good too. Ty for reviewing my old skool music , great memories
Classic vibes
I'll always think on that OG LB part Thats Snoop with his Voice distorted to sound deeper because of Deathrow but he wanted to do something for Warren G on his album. Even that laugh sounds like Snoop Dogg
Mista Grimm “Indo Smoke” Classic 🔥🔥🔥
This song is in GTAV on the radio station WestCoast Classics.
Salute King this is a classic another Warren G classic u should review is Do U See
What's up, Amad. Since you've done Snoop's 1st album. And the 1st Chronic album, you might as well do the Chronic 2000.. And if you do that, may I suggest you review. The Chronic 2000 up in smoke tour. It has all the songs plus some Eminem, Westside Connection (Ice cubes 3 man group) and more. Great way to dive into some awesome west coast rap you haven't heard, &I'm sure you'll love.
If we doing Westcoast bangers then Spice 1 "East Bay Gangster" should be on the list..
Here’s some classic songs from Westcoast artist you never reacted to before.
Spice 1 feat 2 Pac - Jealous Got Me Strapped.
Brotha Lynch Hung - Situation On Dirty.
WC & The Maad Circle - The One.
E 40 - Sprinkle Me.
Snoop and Kurupt ghost wrote most of this album on the low . Their not credited because Suge owned their publishing .
Check out the legendary west coast legends the FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP and their song Inner city boundaries
Warren G Regulate album was cold.. Check out Mack 10 ft Westside connection: Connected for Life .. Mista Grimm Indosmoke was a classic too
That’s a album worth reviewing

This is a legendary Album. You might as Well React to this Album too.
No we had 5 more years to go before GTA Vice city to come out when this was poppin, it’s honestly still sounds amazing the whole albums does
His album was in the 6 disc alpine…I use to bang(4mtx12’sPPI AMPS) this driving up lake shore dr in the white Pearl ghost with the 100 spokes and the purple lights under heading to rock n roll McDonald’s before I hit the White Castle on Stoney😂 women’s EVERYWHERE, bad ones.
Often forgotten westcoast rapper Ras Kass is dope, too. listen to the Track *Nature of the threat
. edjucate yourself! this will blow your mind. the whole album *Soul on Ice* is a great Album from 1996
that west coast beat and the G funk era
Whole album is like that.
You should do some old dj quik. First and 2nd album.
Also Above The Law - Black Mafia Life. That’s some of the original g funk sound. Perhaps the first.
So what you didn’t get to hear on that Doggystyle reaction/review was Gz Up Hoes Down. It was only on the first 100k albums sold so a lot of folks don’t know but you should check that out when you can
If you are doing g funk west coast there are tons of great artists. Above the law-uncle Sam’s curse full album. So funky
This song is present in GTA V
(Westcoast classics radio)
This song going crazy on 2k24 🔥
Check out " Round & Round " by The Twinz....real laid back west coast track
