      @Sean Ransome no... it's not! (but it should be) even after Human rights got involved, after 2004 it still remains legal so long as it causes no harm to the flesh like cuts, bruises, or marks etc. It is still considered acceptable to swot a nappy oddly enough. However, most social services and CPS would suggest using other methods, and would perhaps attempt to use CBT to promote the use of them. Me personally, I find both Timeout/Naughty step, and removing privileges are extremely effective tools in effecting discipline. Get it right, and eventually you'll only have to reach for your phone (to get the timer for timeout active) and the kids will immediately reconsider their actions. My wife has it so she only needs that "look"... sends shivers down my spine even. I'm a grown man. Kids are young, not stupid, you explain to them that what they did was wrong, and that in order to put things right they have to do a timeout, and usually they'll do it. No need for violence, we all get enough of that from people who were spanked as kids. :D

      my kid went to the doctor to get a prescription filled, which she had to state what the PTSD was for, something we have dealt with already and moved on from it. I stated several times, we have an attorney and this was already dealt with. Did the doctor care? nope, doctor wanted to get her bonus check and make a report, and on the report, didn't notify CPS that this case was already dealt with and was closed and I have an attorney. Doctor also made my child more depressed with the situation and caused me more stress. We just want to move on from things. Why do we have to constantly rehash it?

    • @bethroesch2156
      @bethroesch2156 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@sarahlimmericak1683 since you have an attorney, stand your ground. IMO, as long as a child is NOT being harmed, it's up to every family to decide how to best cope with things and it's definitely not for CPS. Mine was a case like that. I didn't have an attorney but I did have a family doctor, a psychiatrist and 2 therapists who we were working with and CPS HAS killed more kids than I have where I live. I can think of 4 cases offf the top of my head and so far, all the ones I had are still alive. People don't realize that you can say NO to Children's Services caseworkers who are "checking out an anonymous complaint". My sister's ex called them on her 23 times over the course of 2 years and even they had to admit that it was harassment since they never found a single issue. I'm just leery of them

      Same as Social Services (the equivalent of CPS) here in UK. My acronym for them is SS. They overrun everything, make a ton of errors, don't listen to valid complaints and many children end up suffering badly because of them. Here in UK the SS think they have a God given right to march in and cause chaos, do whatever they want to, make whatever assumptions they want to and worst of all; they ignore huge red flags when children really do need to be rescued from bad situations, child abuse etc.
      Our UK family courts are total BS, as they will believe the SS irrespective of the real truth.
      Sad thing is there are a few excellent social workers; but they are smothered and suffocated because the senior SS tell them what to say or write in reports, or they take the case reports and change them to reflect something of a skeleton of the real truth, with the complete body of the report altered in many ways.

To kids are going to bad homes, To many kids have Died in the Foster care system. Everyone is talking about the boarder and how much all those people need us. I say NO, Our kids here need us! Change the System, Make it better, for the kids in real need. Get more and better social care workers. Give more money to all the Foster families including relatives. It's a Huge strain on a family when kids come in at first and for a while after. All of these kids have been through so much, they all should get s four year collage paid for. That does not happen today. Also in today's age tell what kid is ready to totally live on their own at 18. None, things cost way to much now and it's very overwhelming for them. Isaiah Gunther that’s proof positive the system is broken and is corrupt!! I’m sorry for the things you had to endure. But you see, if the agency operates in the confines of law, your mother couldn’t have turned away a “LAWFUL” visit. That’s the issue. They hire people who are incompetent and incapable of doing the job. Obtain warrants first. To defuse situations, have parents come to offices or doctor appointments, but don’t just show up unannounced without demanding entrance to people’s homes without legal paperwork. Have paths available for people to sue those who make false accusations. The system needs reform. Period.

    I am a recovering addict. I have been clean for a while now , however, I'm on a medication thatbhelped me get clean and I got pregnant (not planned , told I couldn't have anymore babies) anyway, I took classes my clinic provides because it's the state law that the hospital contacts cps if the baby has ANYTHING in their system prescribed or not. And we had the former head of cps come talk to us to prepare us . She even said cps worker once told her " I act as nice as I can and just let the parents talk and talk and talk then I can catch them in anything the confidence in me" that's how twisted these people are. Thankfully the hospital chose NOT to call on me because after the social worker there spoke with me and heard my story she knew my kids were safe. Taking this class taught me ALOT about these people. Even as a child I was being abused, I called cps to save me. The worker told me (15yo) that I was almost 18 and I could leave whenever I wanted at that point that there are kids going through worse things then I am. Now that I'm older and I understand how sick these children traffickers are, I thank God that cps worker didn't do his job and left me the hell alone!
    Way to go dad, you di the correct thing. I believe children should be punished. There is a fine line between abuse and punishment. I've spanked my 3 kids maybe 2-3 times their entire life. They're the most respectful and well behaved children one having ADHD . Then you see parents who try "gentle pafenting" and their kids are the ones screaming and causing a mess in restaurants and stores. I've gotten compliments on how well behaved my children are while in restaurants. They are 3,7 and 9. Cps cannot tell me how I raise my children, PERIOD. I WONT EVER shame another parent for how they raise their children but people , again, need to remember there is a fine line between parenting and showing children there are consequences to their actions and beating them.

    • @charliebrown7904
      @charliebrown7904 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gentle parenting and "I don't believe in punishment" parents are not protecting their children. The children run riot when young, then don't understand when they are older that actions have consequences and cannot accept being punished by the courts. Those children, now adults continue the bad behaviour, which increases as they become involved with peer groups, and they also make up a high proportion of bullies in schools.

    • @wpcbrown
      @wpcbrown  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      An attorney, a police officer, a judge, and the CPS case worker are on the same team. They are all trying to milk us. We must train ourselves to rise up, stand up, and speak up presenting our case in court by ourselves.
      Hint: An attorney is a guardian who turns you into a ward (underage incompetent child) in the court needing an adult to explain the matter. You thus loose your voice in court and the court cannot hear you anymore except through the guardian. Put another way, you forfeit you rights to the attorney who advises you to submit to the judge who in turn puts on a dog and pony show after which he takes your money.
      However, but because our education system is so inadequate, most of us need a guardian.
      Educate yourself.

    One of the Rights you have that they don't tell you about is your absolute right to say NO. CPS in the county I live in has had a couple children murdered by THEIR foster parents. When a family member decided to use CPS to harass me, I played nice the first visit. By the 4th caseworker in 3 weeks, I was DONE. Fortunately, it was summer so they couldn't jump them at school and I told the last caseworker that NO you cannot question my children or come into my house unless they showed up with a sheriff and a court order. I also asked them the same question he did-how many kids has the County handed over to murderers. See, I've NEVER killed a child, but CPS has so maybe they should investigate themselves???

    The best bit of advice I can give you is to put up no trespassing signs on your property that saved me somebody called in an allegation of educational neglect because I took my kids from school to homeschool. Because I had to no trespassing signs they called to see if they could come on the property and I said no I did arrange to meet them in town and my case was closed in less than 30 days I know that it's scary but keep up the good work don't sign any contract with them

    He blew it when he said ‘I practice corporal punishment’.
    I am stunned at the depths these parents go to, to deflect. Dr. Phil always says to never miss the opportunity to shut up.

      I mean, if she hears someone say they have hit their kids after someone has been accused of using physical abuse on their kids…what do you think is gonna happen?

    An allegation is nothing more than "hear say" . Glad you stood up for your rights.
