    I love the 208. It's such a great mic. But what I really love is Lauten. They are such a great company that I believe is really there for the artists and talent. They aren't just making knock-offs and "budget" copies. They make innovative and useful mics at very fair prices.
    The 208 and the Atlantis are both just superb.
    nice video.

    Been recording and producing my own music since I was 9 or 10. I'm in love with the whole process! Going to be 72 in April. Your work inspires me and reminds me why my heart and soul lives for this stuff. My only regret is that I won't have another lifetime to do it all over again. Carry on my friend, carry on !!!

    Bro, such a banger. Just goes to show that having a bunch of microphones and equipment is nothing without talent (which you have an amazing amount of).

      Thanks! And yeah, honestly, a producer who really knows what they're doing can work with basically any tools and make great music. The tools are nothing more than a tool.

    Hello Nathan. You have no idea how much I appreciate this tutorial. I am beginner music producer in Africa. Some time we don't always have everything we want but watching video like yours, make a huge difference in our production game thanks again 👍😊. By the way you have a beautiful voice a good taste of music 😉.

    Your writing skills are amazing, and your vision makes justice to the song. The microphone is just being there to witness the awesomeness.
    Much love from India !!!

    Such a great amount of info! All giving inspiration, fantastic tuition, usage of just one mic (Which is all I have 😂😂😂😂) so massively helpful to keep me going. Thank you so much Nathan.

    Using just your channel alone I have improved my producer skills and have learned more. I was recently going to purchase a good amount of music equipment but watching this video I realize that I can work with what I have. Like you said at the beginning when you have limitations you can really focus on how to work with what you have and I think that is really important for anyone making music. Thanks for all your inspiration!

      That is AMAZING! Thank you for telling me! Seriously, love hearing that - it's the best.
      You hit the nail on the head for sure. A great producer is gonna make great music no matter what gear they're using.

    What a beautiful song! You should release your songs to Spotify. So far I’ve only found one song you post there, even though I’m sure you’ve got tons of finished songs already by now. I want to hear more of your productions, coz they are really good and inspiring for aspired artists out there.

    Love the random piano hit at 3:39! Keep up the great work! I was a 1 mic studio for so long (and with a cheap mic)... obviously much better recordings now with lots of much better mics (like this Lauten). Was much needed for my acoustic set. Cheers!

    Hey Nathan, just found your channel and I’m definitely going to be checking out more of your content because of HOW you explain your process. Love the blend of good ideas, talent and laid back style. Great music featured here - I’ll age print myself and say it reminds me of Duncan Sheik and I always enjoyed his arrangements. Between this vid and your 3 Vocal Tips vid you’ve made a subscriber out of me. 👍✌️Have a great day!

    could you speak in some other video on managing CPU resources, latency etc and at what buffer size and sample rate you work? I get a difficult time working at 96khz with lower latency while recording. Multiple plugs thrown in, boom, logic's I/O screen would show asking to adjust buffer size etc. You make elaborate productions, wanted to know what you do for resource issues?

    Is it a a sound preference to record the vocals and pitch them up down an octave as opposed to recording all the vocals at the pitch you want them?

    • @NathanJamesLarsen
      @NathanJamesLarsen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep - I do it both ways. Just depends on what effect I want

    The bass volume is too high in the mix starting on: 23:13 [ lower it about 3db ]

    Sure a $500 + mic. Get real

    • @NathanJamesLarsen
      @NathanJamesLarsen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't need a $500 mic to get great results. I've got a $100 mic I can get great performances tracked with and sound fantastic.
