Dude, I'm blown away. You've literally been the biggest inspiration to me over the past 5 years of my music production journey! I love this series you've been working on. It's so massively captivating and informative. Congrats in the highest way my guy.👌🏼
Nathan, THANK YOU for this whole series. ❤️ it! It helps people like me see that I am not the only one who deals with creative blocks; and watching you work through the same frustrations that I do helps motivate me to keep at it!
I can hear the inspiration from NF - Hope. The fact that you've recorded a real acoustic piano parts was so inspiring! We need more of that! I feel so inspired right now!
Man im encouraged but also feel so overwhelmed seeing how much you put in to all your music + content on video which you have to edit as well while making music.... but Kudos to you! Keep going!
Amazing. Watching you work I’m just in awe of the amount you get done in a day. You are inspiring to watch. Thanks for sharing this. Its been tremendously encouraging and helpful.
yesssss! Thank you so much! was a blast to do this one. I think focusing each video on a SONG rather than "here... follow me chronoligcally thru my week" is a lot less stressful on me and also easier to edit since I'm feeling feeling like the video is ADHD.
This actually teached me a lot of how to use sounds, especially the orchestral strings and brass. I'm more of a KPOP producer, but I've got a few ideas of how to incorporate these...
Best stuff I've heard from you on your channel. Great to see how you blast walls that usually stop me. Thanks for That. Hilarious how the creative well runs dry no matter how determined and willful you are to complete the song.
Oh boy you make this look so easy... that mapping out... that's mostly my longest work and you just fly through it. Amazing. That and the sound hunting... takes me soooo long in comparison. I guess that's the difference between being schooled/pro and being a hobbyist. Thx for this upload (as usual), I love this whole learning journey! 😊
That's dope I've been thinking I need to throw down the vocalization and vocal melodic lines right as the come to me. I had started writing them into the DAW
@@NathanJamesLarsen Mate its beautifull i was worried at the beggining you would just make NF hope but what you made was beautiful! also could you give links to the plug-ins you used!
I also have the same issue sometimes and when I do, I always strip the song down to just me and piano or guitar or uke without the production sometimes you need to step away from producer brain to singer songwriter brain especially if you produced the instrumental for so long.
hey dude if you get time id love to see sheet music for that piano part that you were struggling with just to see if i can figure it out on my grand dont stress about it obviously but if its easy to get the sheet music id love to see it lol
The song 'Sulphur' sounds epic. I love everything that you have done with the track. It’s amassing How you recorded the vocals and mix them? It sounds really big, loud, and just as awesome as possible. This is my thought on what I’m going to say next. You can use it or not; it's totally up to you. What I'm asking for, at the very least, is for you to please consider it. I know you know the rapper called Eminem, and I don’t know if you’ve heard his music or what he sounds like, but please do consider bringing him in to drop a rap verse on this track, as I mentioned.
Question: do you store your sample libraries on an EHD or internally on your computer? Love this video. My first video of yours and instant subscribe. Your personality and reactions to music is so wildly relatable. Also, this has MASSIVE Arcane vibes
Thanks a ton! Love Arcane and yeah pretty much all my music is dark cinematic pop stuff kind of like league of legends. As far as libraries - yes I have an external SSD that's the best way. Don't recommend storing on internal
There is a note feature in Logic - here's the key command shortcut (Option+Command+P) -- it's also got a notebook icon in the top right of Logic in the arrangement window :)
Great Vid, shows the struggles of making music. What is your opinion for writing a theme or story and then feeding it to AI to generate 5 examples of each section for ideas? This is something I have done to brain storm ideas.
@NathanJamesLarsen Absolutely, it can be quite unpredictable, heavily relying on how the prompts are crafted. There are moments it feels more distracting than helpful, particularly when I should be focusing on the music. I often find myself using it when I'm moving about. Appreciate you opening up about your production journey. It's truly inspiring to witness the dedication and refinement put into each track. Eagerly anticipating your next musical release!
As far as panning - it's just simple panning in Logic (pan knobs) - I go for a wide feel so the harmonies are all the way left and right and then some extras halfway with the lead in the middle. And then volume (fader) is just pushing the backups down to keep the lead on top. A lot less complicated and "sexy" as people wanna make it out to be.
@@NathanJamesLarsen Does the pitch or frequency matter when it comes to panning? For example, higher frequency or pitch voices should go to the left, while the lower ones go to the right? Or should either left or right have both higher and lower frequencies/pitches, to make everything balanced? And thank you for the previous answer!
hey dude if you have time to get a sheet music for that part that you were struggling with id love to try it on my grand see if i can get it lol dont stress about doing obviously but id love to try it
I ended up getting it ;) Appreciate the comment for sure - making sheet music probably wouldn't make a lot of sense because my goal isn't having other people performing it - it's actualy building my own artist project!

Great song Nate, really well done. But this definitely needs some hard rocking guitars (if you ask me) for even more power 🙂
