I like how your shelves turned out, and I really like the spray painted bookends. They make the Jane Austen books pop and don’t take away from the books being the subject the eye is drawn to.
My thought on your Oxford World Classics is that you need to take off those stickers off the spines. And then I looked at my Oxford bookcase and realized I have 2 books with stickers on them, too. Eeek!
I have A Tip for the Hangman on my tbr shelf as well. I am constantly trying to decide if I should continue with Henry 8 time period books, or move on to his kids’ reigns. Looking forward to the tour!
Jenny- when at Home Depot, look for the shelf measurements you need. I suspect the size is standard, so they'll already have them on hand. Check before you ask HD to cut shelves to size 😘😘 New bookcases look great ❤

Yeah! You definitely need another board for each of the shelves. Once you add that shelf, you will get more space. Your Penguin English Classic shelf is my favorite; that clock is classy.
My priority TBR books are on the shelf that meets my eye level. The lowest on my TBR pile are on the bottom shelf. I prioritize all my TBR books on display, as opposed to books that I have read, because I am very much a mood reader and want to scan over the titles to see what I am in the mood to read next.
As far as wasted space, my local used book store places their books flat on the shelf for a few reasons: (a) you can read the spines without craning your neck, (b) gravity does not tug on the spines f the older editions and (c) you use ALL the space from bottom to top allowing more books to be stored.
I see that some of your Oxford Classics (and others) still have barcode price stickers. If you peel them off and use a product called "Goo Be Gone", it'll take that stickiness off from the spine after the sticker is gone..
If you want a pastel look, but are not committed to paint, you could use shelf scarves. Buy a quarter or half yard of pastel fabric and fold it onto the shelf to the edge, and place your books over it.

Looks great and quite functional. The spray-painted book ends looks great and if you’re not totally happy you can always spray them again! Agree you need the extra shelves for the bottom I think that will improve the overall aesthetic you’re going for. Nice job!❤🎉

I'm obsessed with the new setup!!! You can truly be proud of yourself :D only downside is that now I want to reorganise mine as well lol. My first thought when I saw the bookends was that maybe they'd look good with the other classics on the top (Ivanhoe etc.) in terms of colour scheme? But if you're thinking of getting rid of those anyways, maybe it wouldn't make much sense to use the ends with those

You could move the shelves so you have less space at the bottom one. They look great tho.
