i love your categorizing system it is very similar to mine! i put any book that was published before ww2 in my regular classics shelf, anything that was released after ww2 but before the 90s is classified as a modern classic, and all the remaining books are contemporary. this is just the system i made up rather than looking it up on goodreads/other websites because they are inconsistent most of the time.
Love how your shelves turned out! and I appreciate your murakami collection, he’s one of my favorite authors so i recognized those spines right away lol
You should make some little divider signs for the genre sections, like at a library! You spent so much time and effort separating them out. It made me very glad my books are just sorted by vibes, lmao. I only have about 250 though, so they're still pretty easy to keep straight in my head and know where things are without an intense organization system.
I loved how everything turned out! Your aesthetics are so pleasing, keep up the amazing work! 💖📚 I have a personally fun question for you. Which popular genre do you prefer the most?: Romance or literary fiction?
Just wondering, do you end up having to dust your books constantly? I just bought 2 Ikea Billy bookcases but WITH doors because I wanted to protect them from dust and not have to be dusting constantly, just occasionally. Ofcourse they cost much more than without the doors.
I find that when the sides of the shelves are closed and you don't have them right on the edge of the shelves they don't really get super dusty. I also regularly reorganize and just moving them a bit from time to time usually is all I need to do to prevent dust build up
I only dust the books and shelves when I'm dusting everything else, like I don't need to make special effort to keep my books from getting super dusty. They do get dusty, though, just not enough to bother me. And like @pretentioussunshine6886 has said, the books get moved around a bit when I buy new ones or when I'm choosing what to read which helps the dust from building up too much :)
I love the whole set-up!! It's so beautiful and cozyy!!
I love that set up and the shelves they all look beautiful well done you have done a grand job :)
