Shipping betta fish for the very first time can be very stressful! I hope that this video makes it much easier by preparing you to choose good shipping materials that will ensure your fish gets to its new home safely. A LOT goes into shipping live fish, so consider this PART 1 of the shipping live fish mini series. If you want to see how I shipped my fish last year, watch this: th-cam.com/video/qvMHRsFCFcI/w-d-xo.html
Creative Pet Keeping excellent video my friend. But I see you are spending high on styrofoam. I recommend you to check zoro.com you have excellent styrofoam box itself for less than $4, it’s comes $3 when you have coupons. This box goes well with USPS boxes. Just give try. Hope this help you. I use them for my shipping :)
Thank you. I've only seen one other video that did a good job explaining this. Yours seems to be an easy and straight forward way to ship fish. Keep up the good work!
I'm glad to hear it! It was a struggle to find information on shipping and supplies when I started out..so I wanted to make it as easy as possible for all the new betta breeders 😊
Love you video girl!!!! I also waited too long for this topic! One idea for labeling is to use pictures, i.e. Sun with dash through it (like the no parking signs)
I think breather bags are the new standard. Less sloshing, less stress, guaranteed oxygen. I've received mine that way after 3 day shipping. But it doesn't work if you fill it all the way up. I'm going to do some tests this year by shipping bettas different ways to my partner (who could use some bettas in his life lol) before committing to what works for customers. breather bags while much much smaller are more expensive though and may not benefit bettas shipped within the same country.
Its good to practice on snails, it also helps if you have a friend to send a test shipment to. My first shipment was to Lifewithpets on TH-cam and she gave me great feedback. It helped a ton
I just shipped out a baby betta yesterday, I was gonna record it but I just didn't have a tall enough tripod. But at least I can watch this and learn! Edit: I actually don't use that insalation I use a plastic one you also find at Lowe's, don't remember what it's called but it's A LOT cleaner!
Good evening!!! I want to know if you have aor know another company to buy the styro liners set because I check with AQPKG and they don’t have and i need 7x7x6 and others if you can help me I really appreciate because im tired to cutting by my self 😂
How much is it for the shipping? Once the box has everything inside and its tapped up, how much is the price you usually pay? Does it depend where the box is going?
I'm aware that this is a very old video but I'm hoping you'll answer a question I have anyway. And that question is: will they have enough oxygen in there?
I am watching this waiting for my 2 females from Indonesia. They were supposed to be here yesterday. I am really trying to be positive, but lacking faith in the post office. I have had 2 shipments and so far the PO has lost both. The first one, the male almost didn't make it and lost a ventral during the trip.
Oh no.. I'm sorry to hear that. So far, I have shipped over 20 fish and all arrived in good condition to their new homes so my experience so far was positive.. but unfortunately there are post office employees that will mistreat packages.
I am starting a fish business at home, selling ranchu and tamasaba goldfish, I need to get a good size oxygen cylinder for fish packaging. The problem is Where do you get oxygen cylinder for fish package and what is a good size? Am I buying a empty medical oxygen cylinder and refill the oxygen somewhere else? Can you give me a suggestion to buy an oxygen cylinder?
Just watching so I know it’s humane to do this… I’ve got a betta on the way and it makes me feel wrong to know they’re in a box in a truck the whole way… the betta is from bettasquad and I’ve read good reviews but I still am surprised you can ship live animals
How are you dealing with shipping in this crazy heat? (I'm in the chicagoland area as well). I may move out of state soon and can't decide if it's best to drive with my fish (i'll be kind of road tripping) or figure out how to ship him to me.
Right now I'm choosing to wait out the heat. I tend to pause shipments in winter and mid summer. I know a IBC breeder who lives in Texas and she perfected shippping bettas in hot temps with her diy cold pack which I will share in the future.

Trust me your fish are being mishandled. I did cargo for a bit.. those workers are tired, overworked and underpaid 😅
Yyyasssssss I have been waiting for a video like this for sooooooo long, yay

Loved this video, such a clear, concise walk through of shipping supplies, I need to look for some of those stickers among other things! Thank you!!
I still use some of your BIG cichlid bags that you gave me :D
Thank you for making this video I'm in the beginning of my journey shipping and all and I'm so grateful for all your help!!! keep being awesome!
I be so happy when you post🤗
I'm happy that ur happy
Look up styrofoam cutter. It heats the edge or wire used for cutting styrofoam and makes for a neat cut.
Thats a great idea! I will look it up, thank you.
Love you video girl!!!!

Wonderful video! I have shipped microworms last year and some snails this year, working my way up to bettas and fish soon!

So interesting I will definitely use this info in the future
Hope it helps ^_^
Thank you! Very helpful
Awesome! Very helpful video thanks for sharing 😊
Awesome video!!❤️❤️
Hey. Do you need oxygen in the bags? Are they okay to last 2-3days without oxygen?
I just shipped out a baby betta yesterday, I was gonna record it but I just didn't have a tall enough tripod. But at least I can watch this and learn!
Edit: I actually don't use that insalation I use a plastic one you also find at Lowe's, don't remember what it's called but it's A LOT cleaner!
Excuse me, Is shipping too expensive?
Very informative!
Hi, I have heard using Madeline blue in the bag is a good idea. Do you agree? Also, at what age do you ship your beta fish?
Sorry, autocorrect. *Methylene blue

Can you tell me the procedure to ship cold water fish like Rainbow Trout?
how you use oxygen on bottle oxygen or normal open just collect air ?
Great video! Thx for the information. Do you need a license or any certificate to sale your fish at home like this?
I ordered fish from imperial tropicals priority mail they got delayed in transit and when they arrived they were dead all 3 were

What payment method do you like most.thank you.
Squeaky voice is soo cute! :)
😁
Do you think I will need a heat pack for plants
I'm aware that this is a very old video but I'm hoping you'll answer a question I have anyway. And that question is: will they have enough oxygen in there?
Yup! If you follow the ratio of 3/4 air and 1/4 water they will be good for up for 5 days in a bag although less is better.
Where do you get the box and the styrofoam from?
Banana is so cute!
Do you use regular fish bags or breathable ones?
How much is the flat rate shipping box then or is it just priority mail?
But you don't show how to actually pack the fish, I need to see this! :)
I have older videos where pack fish ^_^
Is it possible to ship with a cold pack of sorts? I live in a place where temperature gets to 120 F° and even at 70 it feels like it is at a 90
Yes, I make a DIY coldpack as normal icepacks are too cold. I show it in an older shipping video but should make a video about it in the future.

How long does a betta fish survive when shipping overseas?
Kasia, is your most recent spawn ready for sale? Where can I buy fish from YOU?
I sent my fish threw the mail and it says it taking longer why is that? I shipped priority? Did I do something wrong
Figured it out. Shipped Monday no delays
Awesome...
I like your video

I understand that this is a hobby, but do you make any profit selling online?
I don't breed/sell enough to make a profit.. but some breeders in Asia use it as a way to make supplemental income
@@CreativePetKeeping Oh I see... great channel though, keep it up!
Can you sell me a betta
