The biker of today started out on these things like the AP50, SS50,FS1E .The rare KTM Commet Cross, Fantics , Puch Maxi GP, Malaguti and many more . Thanks for taking us back to those crazy hazy days. 👍👍👍👍
Was my first bike in 1980, great memories
The FS1E has become such a classic that the Sammy Miller Museum have restored one and put it on display. I was 16 in 1975, several mates had Fizzies, a few others had Italian mopeds but my dad was a bank manager so HP (finance) was never going to happen. He lent me £25 and I got a Raleigh Runabout... basically a bicycle with a 50cc engine and I remember the freedom and independence it gave me. It also allowed me to get a weekend job that financed my motorbikes and beer all the way through college. Happy days.
FS1E, brings back memories.
Was my first bike back in 1976, no tests to take just buy one & ride it, unrestricted in those days so 57mph was near its limit.
I always thought that FS1E stood for, five speed 1 extracted, as originally was going to be a 5 gear bike.
Anyway a great trip back in time and yes it gave you the freedom to explore around the area you lived having never been to the smaller villages nearby.
