I think a lot of people underestimate Zenitsu. If you put the time in, he has insane combo game especially with the right assist. I think he's pretty good but he requires a decent amount of meter which is a problem when you have characters like Water Tanjiro and Rengoku.
Agreed I main him and you need to play way differently with him and how you use support
When I Mained rengoku u literally had to used all your meter for the dmg I'm not saying he doesn't do dmg I see it as a trade-off I've seen zenitsus do a fuck ton of dmg and still have meter left one of them is gbg gaming dude goes absolutely crazy with zenitsu

And they are very hard to punish if youre not using a water wheel character especially one without tracking if he puts out his assist and dodges. His auto combo is good because that first shoulder goes pretty far. And

"If you put in the time" yeah if you put in the time you'll be able to just about keep up with rengoku or urokodaki mains etc.. when they dont even need to put in any time or drop combos lmao the game isn't balanced because people forget the biggest thing, practicality vs theory
In theory he's great but in reality he's left behind by 3 tap 60%+ combo characters who are probably drinking a nice beverage at the same time they fucking you with one hand

Factual. He’s soooo reliable man. It’s sometimes crazy not use him. I disagree with nerfing him tho. He’s a pillar and that what makes this game good. Pillars have an ok moveset that punishes players. Ex: Rengoku Surge-BYE BYE, ginyu-dead calm sneaky, and ole girl poison( poison, switch to your main or just go crazy)!
For real bro. People think if you play him it's because he's "broken" when really (I'm assuming) it's just because the movie recently came out and he's a badass character.

Quick second comment, I know this is gonna sound biased, but I think Giyu's dead calm is fine. It's supposed to be a high risk, high reward move and he's left open for so long if he gets baited or whiffs it.

I agree it's fine to me too. The only "issue" is he can switch while doing it so you can not only throw out a higher damaging character and give them a blue combo ring to completely turn a match around or end it but you can make his dead calm safe. I've personally been working on abusing this and it's fun af but very deadly 😂
@@psych_shock4370 you could activate it too early or late. Also it isn't frame 1 invulnerable. You can get hit out of the starting frames.
@@SpeakHerMusic yeah if it ever gets nerfed I think the only thing they should nerf is being able to switch out from it. Everything else is fine.

Hinokami tanjiro normally is yeah B tier, but he’s kind of broken at the moment because he can take so much advantage of input lag with his reversals

@@shogun5589 when you play at high levels mashing isn’t really an option since you’ll just get punished for it. Also the same could be said for Shinobu. Both characters with relatively decent damage but one gimmick that makes them really strong

I play a Rengoku/Giyu team, was gonna use this team since before the game came out and it was a good choice they both play very nice 🤙 Giyu is crazy online.

@@TheBlurReturns16 I was gonna do the same team or switch out Rengoku for hinokami Tanjiro but I don't have the game yet so I couldn't play them if I wanted to lol.
I believe, Zenitsu has the potential to be a A+ tier demon slayer for sure, but online, his combos are already hard enough, but with input lag, and all that, they're near impossible to pull off consistently, so I believe he's a B ,or B+ tier demon slayer.

Sabito is actually way better than glob is giving credit here. i mean he changed his opinion on zenitsu hours after this video after he was literally crushed by gbg, so any early tierlist is pointless when you have to take in time to master characters and also its a tag fighting game. the ability to work with a good assist is key. sabito is fantastic and high A not C.

I'm happy you finally made your tier list for this game, to me it feels the most accurate. I agree with almost everything especially the fact Rengoku isnt that strong he is beginner friendly and almost everyone plays him so everyones opinion on him is just skewed.
I'm so glad that Makomo is top of the B tier. I don't find top-tier characters fun to use. I like a good challenge, so that's why I use Makomo with Shinobu or Inosuke.

I'm a big fan of what you said about the characters. I feel like thanks to this video I can further optimize my Giyu/Inosuke gameplay
Shinobu is S tier, you missed her biggest strength.
She has the best mobility in the game, her air dodge covers so much distance and it takes her a while to fall, couple that with her tilt special and her punish game is ridiculous. IMO, she’s the hardest character to hit.

„Tilt“ is one of the best baits and in my opinion she is s tier but harder to play
as a shinobu main, she is easy to play and easy to use in reacting. her damage multiplier rears its ugly head when you are hit with a lvl 3

Yeah I think his assist is what takes him down a notch. Otherwise no way he's a B tier
For real, I'm practicing combos with him and theres is no way he can be a B. He's absolutely devastating if you cant escape his combos, and a red combo can take off half your healthbar. Zero chance, despite his assist being bad or not
Great video perfectly explaining the mechanics of the various characters to justify their rankings. Many “tier lists” for fighting games boil down to “I just can’t get to grips with/use this character” but you actually offer objective facts.
Very well made video, you put a lot of time in it and its appreciated. Right now im maining Inouske and are using Shinobu for secondary but I am not quite sure if im gonna use her or not. She is really good for assist for Inouske. Also, I have not even once met Murata in ranked
You have the best tier list I've seen I just had to comment and say that I only disappeared in one instance but honestly it's so amazing
ive honestly been waiting for this video, not to see where everyone is placed but to see if you had similar opinions on rengoku as me. mostly cause i didnt understand what everyone was complaining about since he wasnt the hardest character to deal with in my opinion. but its better if heard from a more fighting game analyses expert .
I think once rengoku catches you your health is gone but besides that he doesn't have as many tools besides damage to control a fight I feel
@@PlattaGaming I will give it that he’s very good at punishing people who don’t learn, but my main thing was that everyone was treating him as S tier when that clearly wasn’t the case. He is still very good and I can see him winning tournaments but I don’t see him being as busted as the actual S-tiers.

I used to hate fighting him but then i started getting better and stopped being super aggressive all the time

I main murata and giyu for my team and i agree giyu is incredible at making respect then abusing respect mind game and also haha murata for me right now is super good. I know most people don't think so but he has some crazy setups that i have found and with his cheer and proper knockdowns i'm almost always as full assist bar so barely anyone can combo me because I can just escape.
but your assist combos go out the window … wht do you do to make up for tha ?
actual murata's water wheel as an assist turns sometimes but since i play a mostly patient game with giyu i can just wait for them to engage with my counter ready. Also murata neutral assist staggers and has huge amounts of hitstun making it easy for resets and or sneaking in grabs or plus frames

I started playing Sabito alongside my Zenitsu and i felt like he was so OP 😅 But I understand the fact he does things that other characters can do better... I still love his basic attacks that can cut assists and side steps and his long surprising grab so I won't let it down 😁 he got to much style
honestly i’m glad shinobu is getting better recognition, she works really well and while she can be hard to use properly she’s a better character than most people give her credit for despite how assist dependent she is

This is probably the best tier list I’ve seen for Demon Slayer. Everyone else just puts characters on the list without explaining what they’re taking into account to rank them, ignore the strengths and weaknesses for some characters, ignore the defense, grabs, etc. But this tier list has everything and explains it all

As someone who mains rengoku and giyuu they help eachother out a ton honestly i think its the best combo of charcaters in the game and thank you for saying rengoku isnt super good becuase its true rengoku has a ton of weaknesses and gyiuu can do a lot its amazing

Rui is a zoner and long range attacker meant to bait due to how slow speed
Awaka has the lowest defense in the game and his skill ceiling his high but his attacks chain very well and he can cover both close and mid range distance

You have to rank players based on how good they are in the hands of a skilled player. Zenitsu has a high skill requirement, but that doesn’t make him low tier because in the hands of a good player he is easily one of the best characters in the game.

@@katakurimochimochinomi4587 Imo, he’s B tier because of his over-reliance on breaths and assists like Nezuko and Shinobu. His skills are incredibly distance based giving you more than enough time to react which is where the assists come in. Their high pressure allows for the guard to start breaking down forcing you to keep holding for an easy grab that doesn’t reset the guard meter or to let go allowing Zen to get a quick combo off.
If you avoid the assists, he’s almost guaranteed to use a skill on you so now he has wasted a bar and an assist.
I’m obviously a random so my input isn’t really that valid, but I have about 190 matches with 120 wins and I promise you that ZERO Zenitsu mains have beaten me.
Edit: I usually let the Nezuko/Shinobu assist to get the last hit to connect so the Zen can start a red combo and waste meter.

Makomo is weak in terms of raw damage but she is fast and chains very well

Thank you for the rengoku part. I honestly didn’t think he was that good. You can push block a lot of mess he does. His damage is great but his attacks are so BIG you can avoid a lot of the stuff he does. He has scary screen noise and block damage. But not much else in my opinion. Meanwhile zenitsu is being downplayed hard.
Yeah I personally think the only character that needs nerfs are Zenitsu Nezuko and Water Tanji The best way to nerf Nezuko is give her the 1.20x damage multiplier and leave her alone and give it to Zenitsu too and water Tanji’s special moves need to do significantly less block damage

I play Giyu/Rengoku and have been since day 1, they are so much fun. The calm water and fierce fiery pillars lol. They are both strong for different reasons. Giyu makes you think twice. I also like to run Giyu/Nezuko too so this list made me happy lol.

i very much agree with this tierlist. but, 2 things regarding shinobu. 1- heavy attack, as you said can be followed up by a tilt skill which is just crazy because of how much prioroty it has which makes her neutral better. 2- shinobu can deal 4k+ combos! since she is capable of adding heavy attacks into her combos. a basic one is the following
aerial nuetral skill
heavy
aeiral autos
aerial nuetral skill
some grounded autos/tilt skill
guard special
really think those two (while the 2 can cause a change of playstyle) can REALLY bump up her game if used correctly

I wonder if all the demons will have a similar advance like Nezuko. Being a demon, deception is part of the game so underestimating their range can put a lot of people in pressure situations. And if Akaza is true to what we have seen, i feel like he’d be the worst to deal with.

rengoku is very easy to use. his combo strings connect so well and if there is time, you can get drafted into an ultimate. a full metered rengoku can easily delete your health bar in one turn

I like sabito ngl, I know he is kinda bad damage wise but I rlly like his water dance special thing and his dive attack combo is super useful
for inosuke you wanna have shinobu too for ur combos, u do a finished crazy cutting, switch to shinobu sixfold then do ur combo and to switch from shinobu to inosuke use sixfold, switch then use crazy cutting for max dmg, any moves can be put before those just thats how u effectvely switch around with combos

Also dead calm can be countered with a counter for example rengoku rising scorching sun counters that but make both opponents fall to the grown I did this multiple time
Giyu is the most annoying character in the game. They can act as timid as they want and get rewarded with I'm entire healthbar. He gets a parry that counters assists and special attacks.
I think personally special attacks should hit through dead calm or cancel it and leave most netruel like boar rush. But I can call in an assist to try and get away after some block pressure, he can counter my assist, CATCH me with I'm own assist then trap me and I'm assist in a combo I have no hope of escaping

Urudokui has the best water wheel you just got to hold forward. He jumps in the air near the end making some attacks miss. Sorry if spelled his name wrong

I pretty much agree with this Tier List, I do feel Sabito could be B Tier at least, but the problems with the hitboxes is indeed off putting.
Though I am surprised you didn't mention Nezukos last Base Combo attack, that huge wind up kick! In all honesty it is as bad as Rengokus third attack I feel D=

I get that Munata gets a bad rap, but have you ever tried playing as him? Unlike Dan in SF, he's still viable as a ranked match character. He forces you to play different, but his combo strings can actually be pretty beastly, and you gotta love that guard skill taunt to really rub it in that your opponent is losing to a joke character.
I say give him a shot. He's probably the most fun I've had with this game because no one expects to lose to him, and if you get good, they will lose often. I haven't lost a match with him yet
Bro Ajax’s is like the most op when it comes to combos. The opponent cannot dash properly is you use the Akaza annihilation type because it cancels it out. And Akaza can literally keep the combo going if you use technique development compass needle

I think another weakness Nezuko has I'd that if you get caught using her normal on block, she can be push blocked and countered relatively easily, especially against characters like Tanjiro. At least, in my experience that is.
I love how much of a thorough breakdown you give for these tier lists. It really helps us understand how you come to the conclusion of ranking each character.
