    Both Russ at Path Less Pedaled and Nolan at Bike Sauce have lots of info on Microshift Sword. Great choice to keep down the cost of the build if you can make do with 10 speed.

      @@PathLessPedaledTV and I owe you a personal apology. I did a reaction video to one of your videos and called you Rusty. This is a perfect tool for audax rides. With long chainstays it will be very stable and confortable. Most probably the n•1😊 Disk brake only…the price to pay to get decent tyre clearance maybe.

      Yep unless you go Canti you won't be able to ride 40mm tires on a rim brake format. Thanks for watching Mathieu!

    Interesting. Mechanical, affordable groupset. I've only heard good things about Microshift. But with disc brakes.

    • @SeeYouUpTheRoad

      Yes I just don’t know how long Ritchey can continue to make rim brake bikes! Where are we going to get the group sets?
      Tire capacity everyone is asking for ridiculous balloon tires for their bikes 36-40mm these are massive tires for riding road. Rim brake calipers won’t accommodate those size tires
      What’s your suggestion if not disc brakes?

      @@SeeYouUpTheRoad I'm ok with disc or rim. But I think you touched the solution. We should get away from the idea of needing balloon tires. There's a point where tires are so heavy they detract from the experience.

    I really like this bike. It's similar geometry to my Winspace G2 I just did the STP with about 2 weeks ago. The Ritchey geometry might be better though. Love the wire going internal on the fork. I wish it could take a larger tire with a fender for the PNW. I love pneumatic suspension and low PSIs. I don't think these bikes need large front chainrings - and that's why there's limited tire space room. But, boy, 80mm BB drop with a good height HT? That's is perfect for long rides - sitting IN the bike rather than ON the bike. I do have a question with that front rack. (And this question is huge! It is a major omission to my bike.) If you place a Randonneur bag and load it, will it be TOO much for the carbon fork? I only saw a baguette shown at Sea Otter. No bag. But what a frame! Definitely would be great up here in the PNW!

      @SeeYouUpTheRoad  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok I’ll bite when you say you wish it took a bigger tire than 36mm with fender I mean how big are you talking? 36mm is HUGE! 😂

      @@SeeYouUpTheRoad 36 is an odd size. I would say 700x38. I’ve been riding 44 and was shocked that my average speed wasn’t affected much. It’s so nice to ride low psi on bad pavement. Most randonneur 650b bikes use either 38 or 42 width. By the way, how much weight do you think that carbon fork will allow?

    Yes it is the 2x10 microshift sword “gravel” group set George. Although I am not interested in this frame, I am curious , given the usage it was thought for, on why not in breakaway disguise .

      Tell me what looks fast?
      A Ritchey Montebello with a 180mm head tube on a Large frame, for example, is designed for long distance comfort. This bike is going to be festooned with bags and who knows what hanging off of it. When I was at Paris Brest Paris last year (1226 km 12,000 meters or 762 miles ands 40,000 ft) you wouldn't believe the stuff hanging off of people's bikes - coffee mugs, sandals, reflective vests during the day, etc, just stuff upon stuff with bungie cords or cargo nets just holing the stuff together. Aerodynamics is the last thing on your mind when you need to haul the stuff you need to make it through an event that long.
      This is purpose-built for Rando/Audux riding - many hours up to many days in the saddle to complete 1200km or 1500km ultra cycling events - sleep if you want but the clock is ticking. It's not a race bike nor does it pretend to be. People who gravitate to this type of bike will not be interested in it looking fast.
      In fact, they may already have a bike that "looks fast". They may already have a carbon bike to fulfill their need for speed with aero shaped tubes and deep section wheels etc...
