So perfectly explained sir. I really hate all those obnoxious replies to this question that many people including faculties, that "a surgeon is born surgeon, and if you are confused between a surgical branch and another branch then take the other branch, that if you are not a 200 percent sure that you want surgery then its not for you etc". I find that deeply condescending. Its normal to be confused about a big decision in life, its okay to be cautious when making a life altering choice. Surgery is not a piece of cake, it takes a lot of hard work, training and skill to be good at it, you can't take it on a whim, you can't "just know". No one is a "born surgeon". Its your whole life, your future, and you should be able to visualise 10, 20 years ahead, if you will be able to work so hard, such hours and have such skilled hand along with required physical and mental strength. This video is the holy grail to this question.

Will you give short opinion on ENT as a PG option?I have heard motivational videos about ENT as a carrier from many but not satisfied at all,Everyone keep saying “You can be excellent if you like the subject etc” .BUT at the same time many well known established medical professionals disappoint saying not to opt it as a carrier.
No surgical courses please you will be shown from gaining hands on especially if you are service candidate-male like colleges in Madras medical college.In medical courses you need not depend to learn on someone.For surgical courses you need to know art of attracting or manipulating APs otherwise if you are straightforward candidate it will not work out.That’s my point.

Sir I had T11-12 spinal fracture dislocation in 2006, got complete paralysis below. Surgery was performed with pedicle screw fixation. Now I can walk but posture is not correct. However from past 1 or 2 years my right legs is slightly thinner than left one. Can you suggest any thing?

Always loved neurosurgery but general surgery was not that alluring ever. Also like the diagnostic challenges and broad knowledge internists have but dislike lack of hands on. Confused between neurosurgery and interventional cardio😓

@@nayadream1111 if u mean after completing md and practicing it's from60,000-100000 at first then gradually increases. This is for normal areas . In metro cities 90000- 100000 is minimum

No no, as surgery is done under general anesthesia mostly.
Mostly people defer surgical branches... Unless there is special interest in surgery or his ancestors has well established private hsptls...
Its all about rank game sir...
All surgical branches are taken by relatively late ranker in the merit list...
That's because - Everybody advises us How to read hard & get a good rank. Nobody develops our mind to choose the branch. It happens because: most of the students don't know why they are choosing a branch exactly!

They just mug up notes from marrow and prepladder
But the real insight of that particular branch is gained only when we attend wards...
During my ug days and internship I made a clear cut mind set up after attending all wards that I am not going to opt for surgical branches anyway
