- Kabadi Kabadi is a Malayalam movie directed by Sudhir Manu starring Mukesh, Kalabhavan Mani, Rambha and Saikumar. The feature film is produced by Maani.C.Kaapan, Aryanad Sunil Kumar and L.Sivarajan and Poulose Ravi and the music composed by Nadirsha.
Kabadi Kabadi tells the story of two step-brothers. Vijayan and Govindankutty are sons of Rajashekharan, who had been the Deputy Superintendent of Police and who is no more. While Govindankutty's mother was Rajashekharan's legally wedded wife, Vijayan was born out of an illicit relationship. But before breathing his last, Rajashekharan had declared in public that Vijayan was his son and his property was bequeathed equally to both Vijayan and Govindankutty. Rajashekharan had also asked Vijayan to be the one to light his funeral pyre, which of course he does. Vijayan and Govindankutty always vied with each other to out perform the other in all matters. Govindankutty's team had always been winning the Kabadi match held in commemoration of Rajashekharan, while Vijayan wanted to win it at least once, by hook or by crook. In the meantime a retired Judge named Viswanathan comes to stay in their village. Viswanathan had identical twin daughters - Pooja and Sneha. Vijayan and Govindankutty are drawn to these young girls, without ever knowing that there are two girls. They think that they both are in love with one and the same girl and not two different girls. Meanwhile both Vijayan and Govindankutty qualify for the job of Sub Inspector. While Vijayan is posted in their own place, Govindankutty is posted at a distant town. This creates problems. Govindankutty is afraid that Vijayan would steal his girl away. All this goes into the development of the plot of Kabadi Kabadi, in which Mukesh plays Vijayan and Kalabhavan Mani becomes Govindankutty. Rambha plays a dual role, as Pooja and Sneha. Shot on locations at Pala, Eerattupetta etc, Kabadi Kabadi will be brought to the theatres by Ramya Release.
