  • This was my first trip with my my wife and all my kids in the TBM, something that has been a goal of mine for many years. We took a short jaunt to Seattle.

    The music at the beginning and the end of the videos is one reason I watch it.

    Very nice discussion/explanation of the ongoing flow between the pilot and the plane. The explanations almost seem uncanny in they stay just ahead of questions that might to relevant to what is happening at any one moment. Nothing could be more practical and therefore useful. Joining the ranks of established accomplished U tube aviation presenters, i.e. P1D, SteveO, Citation Max, Blanco. andProbable Cause. Keep on, keep on.

    ..the sound has somehow been muffled or distorted on this flight...which makes it more difficult to follow...but we still can enjoy all the outstanding and beautiful visuals...

      Sorry about that - I've been battling sound issues constantly for the last month. I've gotten a bit better, and hope to be showing videos with that shortly.

    182 driver here. How many years/hours did you have before you went up to the TBM?

    Great video, what is payload left after whole family and full fuel on board? What is real operating cost per hour (doc+voc)? Thanks for answers

    • @onetaco772
      @onetaco772  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the whole family and full fuel, that is MTOW. And note I have some smaller kids, so we average 140lbs/person. Need to also put the bigger passengers in the middle seats for CG. Real world DOC is $600/hr excluding acquisition cost.

      @@onetaco772 and VOC I suppose with 200h/year nearly 300-400$/hour? Thanks

    Sir, I know nothing about being a private pilot and aviation. I'm wondering how you progress from the very first flight in training to TBM 850.

      Coming soon! I just made a video on that and am editing it.

    Just curious why you said "air speed alive both sides?"

    • @r2-p2
      @r2-p2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess there are two pitot tubes reading the airspeed. One sensor feeds the left PFD and the other one feeds the right. When the plane starts to roll, you want to ensure that both sensors are reading something. One tube could still be covered by the pitot tube cover or a fat fly might got stuck in it and when your primary airspeed sensor fails mid flight you want to be sure that you can still use the other one.

    Great video. Good job by Jerome! Audio issues. On my airplane (not a TBM) I had similar issues with a loose cable fitting etc. I found out that the female aux fitting on the panel was meant for a 4 pole 3.5mm audio cable, and not the standard 3 pole 3.5mm audio. So switching to the 4 pole cable fixed the panel connection, then I had to get an adapter at the other end to convert from 4 pole to 3 pole to fit into my IOS device.
