I think this is long overdue. Sue them, make it public and that should put a dent in this kind of behavior. Flying used to be fun and people were polite but now it's more like a flying bus.
Excellent thoughts. I was surprised this is the first time this action had been taken. I thought from seeing and hearing about crazy passengers, that legal action was fairly common.
Hi Joric. Never experienced any problems while traveling though I have seen people pushing the envelope of tolerance. I believe that passengers should be held accountable for their actions and how it affects other passengers, airplane staff and the airline companies themselves. Civility is in a death spiral in my opinion and I am ashamed at the behavior that is being exhibited by the general public. Alcohol is one problem. Stress and frustration that is brought upon by the airlines suppressing common courtesy and comfort in the entire process of travel is another.
Great and insight thoughts. My wife and I were talking today, and on some recents flights, it seemed like one more comment from the passenger or the crew, was going to ignite a confrontation. To your point, alcohol fuels some of it, but just a lack of common decency from all sides seems to be growing.
I've seen a couple of flights kick off mid air, and to be fair they were both on Ryanair flights. The great thing about their flights being so cheap is it makes them accessible to everyone. The bad thing about their flights being so cheap is *it makes them accessible to everyone*
Support Ryanair 100%. Was on a flight last July with 4 very under the weather individuals who sat behind me. They continued to drink and it made a very long 4 hour flight.
I was surprised to read this is the first lawsuit of its kind. Given the videos I've watched over the years, I too felt like airlines have probably sued passengers before, but I guess not.
You are right : You have to improve behavior ! You can reduce your personal carbon footprint by NOT flying airplanes for nothing, like tourism. You can start to think the 21st century we are already 25 years in it. I would sue airlines for carbon footprint and passengers for the same reason. Destroying earth for nothing. By the way...did you calculated your PERSONAL carbon footprint ? It's about time !
What are your thoughts on airlines starting to sue passengers for bad behavior?
This is LONG overdue. If these idiots have to pay thousands for their actions, they might , might , behave themselves.
Absolutely agree!
Should be mandatory to sue these people. Lifetime ban and all costs (including delays to other passengers) paid by the passenger. Zero exceptions.
Good idea
If I had to suffer travelling with Ryanair, I might go mad as well

Great point.
They should be sued by the airline and any award divided up between the passengers and crew
That is a very creative idea.

Sorry to hear this.
There should also be a never fly again list, never ever
Based upon how this plays out, that might be one of the outcomes.
I thought airlines already did recover costs from unruly passengers?

Well overdue action by Ryan Air but this video provided very little info......you said it all inthe first minute!
I was trying to be succinct with the video. Let's hope cooler heads and everyone can be a bit more civil on flights.
