I've been looking at this brand. I think yours is the first review on TH-cam. Thanks for that! Great review. Can't wait to get mine now!

That’s awesome! If there are any other things that you are wanting tested, just just let me know and I’ll do a video on them as long as it involves the outdoors I’m about it!

I've been using rocket stoves for about 10 years now. The one you have is light compared to the old ones that used clay. I have discovered that enameled cast iron is the best thing to use due to how easy it is to clean up the soot. Also, that stove is made for charcoal but as you can tell it works with wood as well.

Love the size and yep it is a little heavy with the cast iron. I am not surprised. Cast iron is heavy. I think it is awesome and I don't think for once it is worse nor better than ecozoom, other than the fact it is more expensive than this one. Buy smart and cheap...worth it.

Thanks for demonstrating this stove. I am buying a rocket stove and this one likes like a cheep alternative to the $100+ stoves. $69.95 on Amazon on 5/25/24

I like this company, just ordered one of these based on your review. I have their dual fuel propane / butane gas stove and that thing is clutch for camping too but this is better for like that actual heat source. And theres lots of places that wont allow you to make pit fires where I live but you can 100% use one of these. Its the perfect size, ur just not gonna get a wood burner in much smaller package than this.

I just ordered one and one of those long flat rectangular skillets from someone elses review with a similar stove and im thinking this would almost be a better heat source than a regular camp fire. The other thing in Cali theres a ton of places you cant get away with having a camp fire, but you would get away with running one of these. Also the fact they burn way cleaner and hotter so you dont have to worry as much about smoke getting blown in peoples faces.

Wood will be my primary fuel source, but im curious how well it works with the charcoal option?

I haven’t done a video on it but it works well with minimal coal. I’m talking 6-8 pieces is more than plenty for cooking with!

Currently $79.99 on Amazon. One heck of a great deal on a great stove.

@@lornaz1975 I understand completely, I have two myself. If people understood how great these rocket stoves are, especially the ones that can also burn charcoal briquettes, everyone would own at least one.

@@keith9875 There is a channel called solid fuel cooking. From him I learned that if you have the charcoal stove you can cook a large pot of stew or whatever bringing it to a boil with wood and then transition to charcoal and simmer it for hours. You can cook anything that way. Its as good as your stove top!

Way too heavy, and not even a grill function.
Looks to be built rock solid, but what’s the point?

    • @BigTaterTex

I haven’t got to upload a video yet, but so far we have used it on the boat and it’s a really reliable heat source and much better than the portable propane one that we were using, I’ve also used it to make breakfast at camp multiple times with no issues. As for its weight yeah it is a little bit heavy but it is really small and compact so it doesn’t take up much space so as long as you’re not hiking too far, I think it’s a great way to save space inside your truck or your car when you’re going on a camping trip

Way too heavy for what? Its a perfect camp stove and its about the smallest solid built wood stove you can get. No grill, but cast iron top which can get extremely hot. I have seen people who put cast iron rectangular skillet over the top which takes full advantage of the rocket flame and provides just another extremely hot cook surface or just a surface to warm up by when its cold. What stove would you propose is better? Its hard to get a better heat than burning wood but its a pain in the ass to make a camp fire and control the burn process, this seems like the perfect option because its portable.
